Long term it's great for the Nets. They weren't winning anything this year anyhow. Plus they will be 16-18mil under the cap in the off-season which makes them a major player in the FA market. I am pretty sure they still own another 1st rd pick (just looked and it's the Lakers pick so not awesome but at least they have one ) so they haven't sold themselves out completely. Also if the Murphy deal goes through they will land Gadzuric and Wright.

Also Deron William is a guy you can build a franchise around. Favours and Harris were not. They have a Top 5 PG in the league and a solid C. The positions they need (lots of) help at are the easiest ones to fill.

Well hopefully now for the nets under achievers like morrow and outlaw will step up under their new leader deron.
they still need cash aisde to resign kris humphries and brook lopez.

so in the meantime their new lineup is
PG deron williams
SG anthony morrow
SF travis outlaw
PF kris humphries
C brook lopez

farmer, vujacic, wright, petro, gaduriz

Well they still have a lot of assets and picks remaining, plenty of expiring contracts as well. Lots of cap space to trade for more picks and expiring contracts..

I suppose they'll make some big moves in the off-season, but it's rumoured Deron isn't happy about being traded to the Nets, so no guarantee he'll sign an extension next season.

Well they got one year to make him happy, and show him a road map to the finals... if he doesn't like it then they can do a sign and trade deal for deron.

he can become a free agent after next season... so expect plenty of action during next seasons trade deadline if deron doenst sign a contract extension =P

favours is quite a good complementary piece to brooke lopez... if he develops into a prototypical PF then nets would possibly have the best front court...

kinda dumb that nets would trade him away along with 2 first round... considering he was taken top 5...

which 2 first round draft picks were they?

oh crap, just remember jazz already have Jefferson and Millsap... both are pretty good PF already... not to mention okur... I would be pissed as favours....

imagine if williams refuse to sign with the nets in the offseasons... basically they gave away their possible future for half a season of "glory"..

The two picks the Jazz received are the Nets’ 2011 first-round selection and a 2012 first-rounder the Nets had acquired from the Warriors, which is protected through the first seven picks.

poor Jerry Sloan, he prolly knew Deron was'nt going to resign and did'nt like his attitude. players like Stockton and Malone are very to come by in this day and age.

Favours hasn't really played well to date. But his ceiling is still pretty high.

Look for Jazz to trade away Millsap, he's worth a bit and they can get good young talent for him.

Kirilenko and Okur will be traded too. Jazz are rebuilding now, with Favours and Jefferson both being youngish.. it'll be a good foundation, especially if they can get rid of the 3 mentioned above for a SG and SF.
