With an all american team and a usual NT starter (that I also drafted) I've only gotten 100k merch once ever.

Wow. You gotta be sh*ting me! I know what type of team I'm going to aim for in a few seasons. That's Awesome. When Liu was promoted to the U21 team my merchandise went up. It was nice.


Edit: what was your average merchandise that season, though? At first I thought you meant 100K weekly. That would be nice.

If Tanner starts/plays a lot then I usually average 80-85K, but if he doesn't then I'm lucky to get 65-70K. It's definitely worth it to have player(s) on the U21/NT though, I mean that's still pretty much a free weekly 20-30k (league average merch: 50k).

But Coco gets to play Tanner at SF however much he wants every week. I get to play my "PF" Tanner at backup SF or PF and then another game 48 at PG. -_-
Luckily he's the 7'0 LeBron of BB haha.

Oh, my bad. At the start of the season it was at 69K, now it's at 54K and just recently 56K. It varies.

hmm, so your drafted star players don't really help all that much... thought it might have more impact.
It would really add up if you had an entire team of drafted players however! Or even non-drafted Americans (like Kentucky has).

actually... 5 out of 6 of your $60k+ players aren't drafted by you! Really, I didn't bother to look at the rest of your team when I posted.

Of players that matter it's just Tanner & 1 non-scrub backup, right?

In my opinion merch income is one of the most overrated things in the game. My team should be about as bad as it gets, low salary, in a relegation fight, and only one American (who is a recent purchase). I've been making a bit over 40k/week. Ignoring the Cat's NT bonus (I'll get back to it), he's making about 25k per week more than me. Let's say roughly half that is due to him having a great record and more than double my salary. That leaves only a ~13k bonus for having an American roster with multiple self drafted players. This is pennies in D2, and not nearly enough to make up for ignoring 90% of the transfer market.

The NT bonus is one of the few times when the merch bonus can be worth it, but this is only available to a small number of owners, is not that good for NT bench players, and is almost never worth it in D3 or lower due to having half your salary/value tied up in one player. Even in D2 most NT starters are too expensive to make up for the merch bonus.

Wow, that's crazy. So even with your all-American team & drafted American star... you *still* aren't making more merchandise $ than I am! In fact even less than me(!) Honestly I thought you'd be at $100k+ every week. Legitimately surprised.

Anyway I'm worried that you're online right now & even posting today too! Do you have some crazy 1-3-1 zone or other tactical magic in store for me?

edit--- fuuu i changed my settings at the last minute. didn't mean to submit. the 1 day i'm actually online at gametime... sadface. well GL & hopefully no injuries. (i probably won't be around to see it live) wish it could have been at my place instead!

Was under the impression that merchandise $ for American teams/stars would be higher than it actually is. Still can't believe my merch $ is equal to greater than Kentucky's!

Looks like I'm investing in NT players next time around. Guess it doesn't really matter if they are American or not. Interesting.

Actually my "scrubs" play in league games on a regular basis especially during the cup, so I figured I would go out on a limb and count them too. Kenton Anderson played in all games but 1 by the way (27 mpg).

The reason my merchandise isn't as high as it "should be" is because I play my players out of position (or limited minutes at natural position) for training/GS purposes so they don't do nearly as well as they could which means not as much merch money.
Example.
UK's Tanner (playing out of position): 14 ppg 3.4 rpg 6.1 apg
Lethargy's Alas (playing natural position): 26.8 17.9 rpg 3.1 bpg

Hm which player's jersey is gonna sell more....
