Second scrimmage played and won

Today I tried an Inside Isolation. Funny coincidence: Portugal had the same idea.
But compaired to Portugal I had another thinking behind the tactic. I used Widerström as the C. Most of you know that there are better choices but my idea was: use his passing. The thing behind Iso Inside is that one of the inside players starts a play. He will try to score or pass the ball. So I hoped, that Widerström would pass and pass and pass and sometimes block.
Unfortunately he took 12 shot attempts, luckily he scored 5 of them. But what's more important: he had 8 assists and 4 blocks. Plus 11 rebounds. He was on a good way to achieve a triple double.
Sandbom was the perfect partner for Widerström today. He finished with 30 points on a 14-17 (82,4%) shooting! It was like he had the whole paint for himself. I hope it was thanks to the great passes of Widerström and Martinsson.

Our defense was really strong again. 12 and 11 as ratings and we hold Portugal to 34-93 (36,6%) FG and only 1-23 (4,3%) 3pt. Our 47,7% weren't that strong, but it was good.

Next week we will play against Norway... Let's see what I will try against them

103:92 against Norway. The third quarter was a desaster, but we managed to win. Good game!

Our victory against Germany had the effect that we are back at 18th rank and with that in group 3!
We almost closed the gap to The Nederlands and Hungary.

If some of you took a closer look to our game, you may found some curious things. The 3-2 zone, Widerström as a SG, Germany had an Inside offense rating of 15 but still could score as much as they usually do.
My main idea behind this game was to stop Scott Broszeit. He is the main power of the german team for almost 10 seasons now. So it was clear who would get this job. At the same time I needed someone powerful against Broszeit. Someone who could score against him. So Widerström had to move. And I move him to the SG spot to use his offense against weak inside defenders. And the rest was just putting the best solutions for this game into the remaining slots, changing the defense order and use the 3-2 zone to do the stuff which the 3-2 does
To be honest, it was a little bit an "out of the box" thinking, but that's just the way I play... no risk no fun ^^
We finished with a FG% of 50,6% and Germany with 38,7%. So our defense was one of our main pillars...again. Broszeit was held just to almost 25% FG and we had the upper hand at the rebounds. Only their SF Volf was hard to stop.

For next week I still have no idea who to challenge. We will see...

Yesterdays victory resulted in +3 points and a new rank: 17!
We managed to surpass The Nederlands but Hungary could improve also. Our defense wasn't that great but that's okay. I played with a more offensive line up and Öby scored really well. 80% FG and 26 points in 26 minutes are awesome numbers.
As far as I see we have one more game this season. I will keep the team for this game as it is. After that I will scout every player from 18y+ and MVP+ and copy them into the NT database. This should give us an overview over all the prospects for the NT.

Tomorrow we will play against the Nederlands. We should be on the same level and I expect a hard game. Let's see if we can close the season with a win.
