so the salary floor going up roughly 130k for ABBL. I guess it does meet their aim of " “Tanking” should still be an option and we don't want to eliminate it completely, but from now on, the profit, we predict, won’t be so high"

Seems a half way measure to sitting on the fence, but will be interesting to see how much it actually changes people thoughts around tanking as an option.

Offseason update
As we have mentioned in our last season news post, we are a bit worried about the number of users that have chosen to follow the strategy called “tanking”. Even though the strategy is not very successful, some teams still pursue it and it's frustrating for their fellow league members to see less competing teams. Therefore, we have decided to take some measures. “Tanking” should still be an option and we don't want to eliminate it completely, but from now on, the profit, we predict, won’t be so high. Starting in Season 21, the salary floor will change for the first three divisions. First division salary floor will be 180% of the tv contract, second division will increase to 140% and third division to 100%. The other divisions will remain the same.

We also want to remind all of you about a couple of upcoming offseason events. First, the draft. Don't forget to set your orders before Sunday 19th. Scouting for this season has ended, so there's no point in waiting any longer. Your future stars are waiting for you, so choose wisely and good luck with your picks!

And finally, but also very important, remember that next week marks the start of the elections for senior national teams. If you feel up for the job, go to the elections page of the country you want to apply for, and sign in! It’s always a good idea to introduce yourself as a candidate in the national forums, or just take part in the debate, and of course, don't forget to vote!

Its not a bad step though as I agree it shouldnt be totally stopped.

Fan Survey is still a problem though

How can I buy dud players, play them in there worst possible positions, lose by a big margin and then still get 5 balls for "the general manager is doing everything he can to try and improve the team" ??????????

I don't think it's a problem, a slight decrease to the gains from tanking needed to be made. Honestly tanking should be a viable tactic just like training, buying up, day trading and any other tactic I've not mentioned. Everybody play the game differently.

Although with less profit I could see player value to further decrease as there's less money in the economy. =/

Why shouldn't tanking be totally stopped? Its annoying, makes half the games each season a bore, and seems to bore the crap out of the people who do it. I can't see any redeming qualities in tanking whatsoever - I'd be delighted if it got wiped.

That said, with a salary floor of around 400K, that should go a fair way towards wiping it out - especially when you consider the fan survey effects of tanking, and the guaranteed drop to D2.

so 130k for 11 weeks = 1.43mil less for tanking abbl teams.

considering you need a 700k roster to compete for 5th spot. Thats still 3.3mil gained for not trying.

not too shabby.. do that a few times... add in a few 1mil promotion money. You can be competing for the B3 in a few seasons!
hahahah just saying.

It still won't stop "tanking".

Why Id argue that a profit should still be available for those who drop to the salary floor is this.

Not every promotee to div2 or div 1 is going to be able to compete and stay up.

Whether it be; not being able to afford a competitive roster (a lot easy now than 3 or 4 seasons ago), not having a large enough stadium or not having the expertise of a BB Legend like yourself, Bryce, Whitebeard or Dire.

For these teams on occassions it might be better to focus on training and to make a small profit from tanking than what it is to push themselves, when they cant avoid relegation anyhow.

Some times such a decision might be made half season when despite their previous best efforts in the first half of a season, its a waste to continue headbutting a brick wall.

I also agree with the previous post, that you need managers to have a number of strategies to choose from.
