Ya thats what i see as an issue too, im not really concerned with driving since that will come with time but just the inside skills arent that great but one position with a level 6 hopefully gets him there

Dear managers,

I'm in doubt about what to do with 1 of my main trainees:

Weekly salary: $ 10 671
Age: 20
Height: 6'2" / 188 cm
Potential: MVP

Jump Shot: proficient Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: sensational Handling: prominent
Driving: proficient Passing: average
Inside Shot: strong Inside Def.: proficient
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: average Free Throw: awful

Make it a outside SF or a SG?

Looking at his skillset a outside SF would be great. The goal for my Outside SF at 120 skillpoints would probably be: 17-13-17-11-13-12-9-15-5-8, at this point I'd be 1 full point away of reaching hiss average potential, afterwards inside training and handling/driving/passing is still possible. Effectively probably just handling/driving + passing.

Looking at his length I see him more as a SG. I like allround SG's, so at 120 skillpoints I'm thinking on: 17-15-17-13-13-14-9-10-5-7, I'm only 0,2 skillpoints from the average MVP potential. After skillpoint 120, there might be some driving + handling + inside training possible. Though thiss will go very slow since the soft cap is in reach.

I'm quite sure my player reaches the 120 skillpoints. Since he was just as good as another player of mine, which hopefully will reach skillpoint 120 this week at the age of 26. This player is more outside orientated, so his training might even go a tiny bit quicker. 120 skillpoints is a real possibility. But which goal should I choose and why?

Looking forward to some smart responses,

GM-Arsjitekt

I agree an outside SF with that skillset would be sweet. Might take some patience to get ID up that high but it make a great player in the end.

I've been away for a while, but I still don't think you can measure potential in directly in skillpoints.

I don't, I used the formula by Josef Ka, to see what I can get out of him. In both cases it's more than 120 skillpoints. (if done in the way I suggested)

But I didn't take the potential as a goal. I took a reachable goal within the potential. 120 skillpoints is reachable, since I got a 26 year old 198cm high SF with potential superstar which is currently at 119 skillpoints.

Yes, it may be reachable in some combinations -- I just wanted to point out that 1 skill point in, let's say, rebounding, may have much different effect than a point in driving, depending on player position.

You're completely right

Anyhow, this guy is kind of shot -- so I suspect training up his inside skills may take a while. I'd do the outside program as you have it planned, then add some passing and rebounding -- but that's just me.

Thanks for your opinion
