I've looked through statistically each league and so far these players below are worthy of mention. It might be a big list right now but a lot of the guys have been statistically good. I'll look to trim it down after Friday's games to about 5-7 guys per position. I was thinking along the same lines as Yoda but to do a 3-2-1 voting system per position. So tally up the votes at the end and have a starter and backup for each position.

Also some of these guys have been playing out of position. So they may be listed out of their favourite spots. For example we all know Dogan is shooting guard but he's played all 5 games at point guard.

how about instead of nominating positions for PG/SG/SF/PF/C we can do something like
Guards
Forwards
Centre?

I know i play my guys out of position a lot depending on tactics that i am employing

Don't see why that wouldn't work.

Personally, I'd rather do it per position. Just because doing it that way will mean we end up with no sfs on the team, and I feel they deserve some love :p

A great list Whitebeard, I don't see any problem in putting the whole list to the people and letting the people decide. I think Bainsy's timeline of from end of game this week to start of game next week is also great. 3-2-1 is great, maybe we can use that to create a proper 12 man team. Starter and reserve for each position and two more wildcards, the two best guys that missed out, some positions are really crowded with talent while in others there will be some players getting all the 3 votes.

i like the idea of each position as well, but hey i have barely any input so who cares what an Ass like me thinks

Dunno whether Jahe has done enough, though the SF crop is pretty thin (he's averaging under 10ppg though).

Cmon now Jahe's PPG is low thanks to incidents when your hacks injured him after 11min (as a square up for my guys taking out Yalduz).....He also had a game of 19min. So 2 low min games out of 5 so far.

I feel like the wombats have beef with the Jahe :-p

I agree with all. 1 week timeframe, 3-2-1 voting and voting on all 5 positions. My question is how is the voting done? Secret votes sent to chosen manager? Open voting in a specially created thread? Of course this will allow people to go back and forth changing votes if they please. On the positive side, open voting will really generate discussion?

An alternate way to vote: open up five threads with five polls for the 5 positions. In this way each manager can vote only once in each of the five polls from a collection of player names put forward?

Problems:

1. Hard to maintain 1 week voting timeframe;
2. We lose the 3-2-1 voting opportunity; and
3. Secret vote where we can't be sure only Fishbowl members are voting

Positives:

1. Creates threads where nominated players can be discussed;
2. Creates a visual update of potential Allstars from day-to-day which adds excitement;
3. Allows Fishbowl participants and non-participants a chance to vote

Other?

@Whitebeard, agree with Dogan being seen as PG and Marcelo "Hot Rod" Rodriguez at SG.

I reckon it be done in secret and sent to whitebeard if he is happy to do it, or yoda and myself. Creating 10 threads is a bit excessive. I also think the discussion would be able to take place in the nominations thread if there were some abouit the players.

What does everyone else think?
