Nine minutes? That is an achievement even Gab Wall would admire. Iran had ten fouls in total for the entire team. Just Weipeng and Singh had 12 combined.

Yeah, that was basically the story of the game. That first quarter screwed us over hardcore and then Iran finishing with just 10 fouls for the entire game (compared to us having 11 in the first quarter alone) was tough to overcome. We still game them a run for the money and might have gotten up if Weipeng didn't have the freak foulout.

Still, we were our own worst enemy though with most of our best players being unusable due to recent injuries or recent sales and gameshape issues.

Mickyster has already been in contact with me about some of the better 21 year olds from the U21 team so i'll be switching focus more to development now.

On a side note, i'm moving house this weekend so might be without regular internet access for the next couple of weeks. It'd be great if some other people can step up and do some scouting, suggest game tactics etc. Possibly one of you people who are interested in the NT job one day ;)

Its always during the crucial part of the year that our NT suffers from gameshape issues. Injuries cannot be accounted for for bad gameshape issues can.

Bogan, Walker and Hadley in a fantastic game. Very surprising tactics and a great result well done.

Not surprising it was that close considering our enthusiasm after big games against China and Iran.

Also, i think their 57k PF (playing SF) fouling out in 8 minutes may have worked in their favour as part of the tactic was to have Bogan take advantage of their big man and score a billion points on the outside. In the end he had a great game anyway but Gawali, their replacement SF played well too and was a better matchup for defending Bogan than Smith would have been.

Our big men got destroyed but the rest of them stepped up as you said yoda. Bogan was huge all game flirting with a triple double and Walker and Hadley were clutch in the 4th too.

The real disappointment of last night was Indonesia just barely losing to Iran by 1. A loss there would have put us back in the hunt.

I wasn't up last night to watch the game live but looks like it was a good showing by the boys against Malaysia. Hadley and Schneider led the way but it's good to have Reiffel back in the team again too.

Unfortunately we're still a game behind Iran so we'll have to hope that Malaysia can cause the upset next week.

Going to be difficult for the Malaysians to defend against the prodigious inside attack from the Iranians.

But its good to see some of the younger players get some valuable gametime.
