I've been away for a while, but I still don't think you can measure potential in directly in skillpoints.

I don't, I used the formula by Josef Ka, to see what I can get out of him. In both cases it's more than 120 skillpoints. (if done in the way I suggested)

But I didn't take the potential as a goal. I took a reachable goal within the potential. 120 skillpoints is reachable, since I got a 26 year old 198cm high SF with potential superstar which is currently at 119 skillpoints.

Yes, it may be reachable in some combinations -- I just wanted to point out that 1 skill point in, let's say, rebounding, may have much different effect than a point in driving, depending on player position.

You're completely right

Anyhow, this guy is kind of shot -- so I suspect training up his inside skills may take a while. I'd do the outside program as you have it planned, then add some passing and rebounding -- but that's just me.

Thanks for your opinion

Training inside skills for 188 cm players, especially if they are in their early 20s, is a pain in the ass. He usually needs at least 3 ID trainings for a pop and 3-4 RB.

If you trained him as a SF, you would need at least 9-10 RB. Since RB eats a lot of potential with SFs, you will not be able to have his JS as high as you'd want. + JR and PA training will be much quicker than ID and RB training. I'd go with multiskill SG with good IS (11-12) and ID (10-11), as they are pretty rare and useful.

He's good so far. At 6'2, he will train slowly for big mans skills. I would just go for a SG. I would just go for the rest of this season big man skills for him, and get him like this: IS 9-10, ID 11+
RB 7+ (Might take up too much cap room), SB:8+?

Then cap him out on Guard skills like this:
JS 16-19 ( I don't really believe in 20 for JS, because 19 is very effictive)
JR 14+
OD 17+
HA 13+
DR 14-18
PA 12+

I didn't check if this would cap him, but there is a SG/SF/PG.

He'll be capped at what you suggested. And it'll not what you thought. These are it.(This is on an optimistic side)

Jump Shot; 15-marvelous
Jump Range; 12-sensational
Outside Defense; 18-phenomenal
Handling; 13-tremendous
Driving; 14-wondrous
Passing; 12-sensational
Inside Shot; 10-prominent
Inside Defense; 12-sensational
Rebounding; 9-proficient
Shot Blocking; 8-strong
Stamina; 8-strong
Free Throws; 9-proficient

And this is with 92-99% full in the sill training bar. So take off at least two-three pops if he gets injured.Again this is on an optimistic side here, his salaries are like this;

C; 19k
PF; 33k
SF; 99k
SG; 109k
PG; 78k

That's it. This should take till age 25 to cap I think. MVPs and greater potential tend to cap at 25-26. But then there's a possibility that he can go to free agency (if a player stays on a team for 5 seasons, they automatically go to the TL for free agency, which will be hard to get when they're at that level.......that's why in s22, I'll be saving up to keep Colelong)
