Happened once for me, in an amusing manner.

My player was fouled while shooting, hit the first FT, missed the second, collected the offensive rebound that resulted, tipped the ball in, was fouled while doing so, hit the extra FT.

I always wondered why a player from the team who is like 2 points behind in the final 5 seconds and gets a FT doesnt hurl the ball against the board in order to catch his own rebound (or try to deliberatly miss the shot in the direction of his center for the rebound) and be able to get a 2 or 3 point shot attempt instead of just trying to go for the 1 point free trow...

This aside, yes I also had at least 1 game in which I had an extra FT after a scoring shot that was called a foul on. I also got 2 points for my shot that was rebounded while the ball was in downward motion to the ring as well, so for the ones wondering about that, it also happens. ;)

That is a violation, if the ball doesnt touch the rim on a FT the other team gets the ball.

aaaaaah!

well ofcourse in the meantime I started figuring out something had to be in the rules about that, I just couldn't find out what it was.
So here's my answer, if the ball does not touch the ring on a FT, there is no rebound possible... Nice rule.

And thanks for releasing me from my decades of brainpain. ;)

Then I'd still try to hit the rim, but miss the shot, and hope one of my own guys can grab the rebound. If you net it, you loose anyway...
