haha sounds like a bot name ey? :P

I don't believe bot teams can promote. The spot would be filled by a human team with a good record.

If a bot team wins their league they do promote. However, this happens prior to the bot cleanup. So, all human-controlled teams end up in a higher or an equal division as the freshly-promoted bot team, which may either stay in their new league or get demoted during the cleanup.
