Because of "I'm gonna lose in the last round because I want that tipmark". Different users have different aims in the game an any motivation to influence the outcome of match/league unsportsmanlike way is genrally bad.

That is why I said small cash prize. If it is a small cash prize, no one is going to intentionally lose in the final just to get that small cash prize, it is much more worth their while if they promote.

So once again, why would it be bad to give the winner of the guess a cash prize? Perhaps make it that it costs 10k to guess, and you get 25k if you get the guess right.

Some people wouldl going to intentionally lose only because they could and "hey, I said that" kind of satisfaction. It's internet after all:)

I suppose, but I think this would be a rare occurence, and even if they did throw the game it wouldn't really matter. No team will get a significant boost.

.

you don't have to lose the Po, but maybe you intentional loose against your favorite in the regular seaoson and try hard to beat his rivals ;) Especially in the last maybe unimportant games.

And if the cash price so small that it is unimportant he won't attract and you could leave him, else it would be important and would have a impact in some leagues.

I believe this suggestion is something the BB must not help. it is more something the league should work out in their forums :) Because it is only intresting for the discussion about it in my eyes.

yeah but would you go into the forum, just because at the beginning of the season you get ask which team would get champion?
I believe this won't happen, if someone make a game like that an write to the teams in his league i thing the answer could be different - and in active league such a discussion comes nearly naturally :)

No manager that takes this game even remotely seriously is going to throw a match to win a 50k prize on the off-chance (or even gauranteed chance) that the person he picked to win the league actually wins. And you say that in an inactive league it is an advantage, not necessarily so, as there may be less active teams but there will be just as much competition between these teams. Also, 50k is not a big advantage, it is simply a novelty prize.

Getting teams to pick a winner prior to the end of the season for no reward is like playing poker with play chips. There needs to be some incentive to pick the winner, even if it is something as small as 50k.

As for it being hard to implement, I don't know if it is hard or easy to implement. Obviously I would rather have things such as a new draft system implemented before this, but that doesn't mean this would not be a good, or at least decent, addition to the BB site.
