My double choke in the first round of the playoffs after going through undefeated has forced a massive reshuffle. Of my 10 players from last season, only 5 remain, and 2 of them are for sale. I have already sold my best player (Steffen Mostbeck, 44K centre). I will not be 22-0 this season - indeed, if I make the playoffs, it will be very surprising. However, I have my eyes on being a better team in the long term - so not this season, maybe not next season, but the season after that, watch out!

And also, as to finally making it to Div II - I have already tasted the heady heights of Div II, but I got demoted after one season ;)

I rather suspect it will be a Seagulls v Sweaty Steamers final, with the Seagulls triumphing in three.

Good luck all!

Also, thanks for starting this thread - this league is quite active in terms of the team participation, but like you said, the forums are totally and completely dead!

Yeah I know how you feel. Depending on who I sell I project to be clearing about 6k a week which is just hilarious after the mound of money that was thrown at me last season. I have a lot of savings and quite a few "disposable assets" who I will sort out in the next week or so, so I am not worried about going broke any time soon.

And I don't know about anyone else, but I am not in the mood for spending a long time with a Cleveland Sweaty Steamer.

I was clearing $20K a week - now I'm clearing $200K a week. Hehe. Should have some good cash by the end of the season!

Wow you really have cleared out your roster! Amazing, I am just way too sentimental and too attached to my guys to do that. I admire you. It had to be done.

In other notes GoldCoastSH just lashed out 900k on
Biser Petrov (2783404) Small Forward
Owner: GoldCoastSH
Weekly salary: $ 23 470
DMI: 66200
Age: 28
Height: 6'2" / 188 cm
Potential: allstar *
Game Shape: respectable

and 100k on
Raúl Verea (5281896) Power Forward
Owner: GoldCoastSH
Weekly salary: $ 6 216
DMI: 14100
Age: 30
Height: 6'8" / 203 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: respectable

This is a major improvement to their roster and now they are looking like a real team in the brutal Big 8. We wish them luck with their new purchases.

I'm sentimental about Sam Clune, he was my first good trainee, and he's a gun player, so I'll never trade him. The rest of the team, they could be traded on a moment's notice, they need to stay on their toes ;)

Well what a spectacular way to bring a 44-0 run to an end.

SF T. Lampiris 23 1 - 6 1 - 4 0 - 0 1 2 2 4 1 0 6 3 1.0 - this may be the worst performance I have ever seen on BB! I'll bet the Young devils were surprised! Well I noticed from the TL that now you have even more money - you are rich.

As for me my finances start to look even worse, a horrid gate reciept has me really scared, check this out:

7/3/2010 League Game against Adelaide 36rs $ 103 804

and now have a look at what I was making

6/12/2010 League Game (Televised) against SJOD $ 244 123

This is worse than when I was in division IV. Ouch! My fans have deserted me! My current projection is now to be making about -$42,000 a week so I need to be winning my cup games just to stay even.

Some of my new players look like they will be having a VERY short tenure on this team.

Wow, that's horrible! I think your fans will return, though. I tended to get around $200000 per home game when my team led the league so I can't imagine you'll stay down around $100000 for too long. I think I'll be dropping to that sort of income though, once my supporters realise how bad we are now!

How awesome was that performance?! I have NEVER seen a 1.0 rating before. I was so impressed. I will never be trading or firing him, he will start for me every game from now on. He is a gun player!

Just picked up a young trainee from Ireland who looks very, very promising.

And yeah, with all the players I fired, I'm clearing a bit under $200K a week now, which is nice.

Yes I had a look at your Irishman and he looks fantastic. As I said I have picked up a bunch of guys because I have been too tired to sort them properly I will leave it for about a week. One purchase I made was HORRIBLE and will cost me a LOT but some of the others were fairly good. The aim for now is to stabilise and ensure I can survive the season. I don't have an easy cup game so will have to save my big guns for that game which sucks a lot but I think I will be needing that 50k for hopefully 3-4 weeks to get me through the short term cash squeeze.

When I was in division III I was making about $160k a home game so you did a fantastic job getting $200k. Hopefully soon I will be at least back up to around $150k, if not there will be trouble.

Make 200k a week and soon you will be able to do anything!

Yeah, that's what I figured - if I can get some cash in, and train up my trainees, then I'll be in a better spot to move into II and be able to compete. My team from last season would have been good, and would have probably been around 4-6 in II (based on my scouting of the four divisions in II), but I don't think it would have been good enough to challenge for a while.

Good luck in the cup - it's always nice when someone from III goes deep. I'll be out first round this season, sadly.

Wow you really are a camel of your word. You promised a rebuilding season and it couldn't be clearer than a 44-0 team going 0-2 . I think it is a smart strategy though, you have to be moving forwards in this game or you can end up stagnant. If I can't get out this season I will be forced to do something similar and sell at least my two big guys then consolodate and train for a bit. I just hope my cash reserves can last this season.

It looks like a couple of teams are doing really well, Cleveland and lakermen are no surprise but GoldCoastSH is doing very well with their new players. It was great to see Massive Ballers get their first win in division III.

I have had to spread my team quite thin this week with three games against reasonable division III opponents I have been a bit lucky to get through. I hope my luck continues in the cup. Although while I feel lucky to win, losing my starting C, who Ranked 3 in the League III.6 Season 11 MVP vote with 96 points, last night to injury for two weeks wasn't so good.

Good luck to everyone in the cup. Represent!

I'm playing a good Div II team in the cup, so I'm screwed, that's for sure!

And yeah, I'm rebuilding. I would still warn the rest of the league not to take me lightly... ;)
