Depending on what tactics you play, you have more of a chance of players making the team. You don't even have to be successful.

I don't see why teams should be rewarded for playing their guys 48 minutes per game so they have inflated stats to make the ASG.

How about the computer generates the top 10 players from each division (statistically). Each manager gets to pick 2 players from each position (can not be on their own team). You only choose players from your division. The winning division gets to split the ticket and merchandise revenue (ticket rev from what the arena's capacity is and merchandise drawn from the team with the top selling merchandise in the league). Yes the teams who have players in the game do receive a little boost in popularity, but being an all-star is a bigger deal than that. many people see this week as a dead week to team train stamina or game shape. If the managers get to choose who plays to give them the best chance to win it not only gives them something more exciting to do but it also provides some incentive to pick the best players and gives them a say..any opinions?

Certainly better than the current system. Take it to the suggestion forum and see if you can get some ideas flowing :)
