I thought the Lakers were offering Bynum straight up?
I haven't read that... and I can't imagine that the Lakers would do that (offer Bynum in a straight swap). Nor do I imagine that Denver would be keen on that either. They'd be wanting to clear off Harrington's or Andersen's contracts off their books too.
I would suggest that firstly, this is all just a ruse to get NYK to offer more (like, Gallinari/Fields in addition to Chandler) to their offer... and secondly that Denver approached LA. Lastly, that it didn't go very far at all. The only reason it would be at all public would be because Denver wants it to be public. LA are very good at playing their cards close to their chest.
