Here's the thing: If you're going to see them, you'll see them after the All Star game. This is still weeks before you'd need to have them in the final order.

The only *very* minor advantage would be if they saw a week earlier that they found a 5 Ball 5 Potential 18 year old at perfect height and decided that they wanted him, so they have one extra game (the All Star Game week game) to tank the season, hit 16th, and have assurance on getting the player. Then demote to D.V.

Another advantage is that they can see the draft earlier which means they get an earlier chance at adjusting the money spent.

Maybe now they know that they need to spend a little more to see certain players or they know that they have all the information they need and can quit putting money into it.

That is certainly a large advantage.

I am not sure how it is a large advantage. I can see the players a couple of days earlier, but it still requires the managers to spend the same amount of money for the same points. I and certain that most managers will not adjust spending since it really is just very small sample to look at right now. Rather than punish managers for doing what was allowed by the system, just simply open up the scouting now.

It isn't a huge advantage but I can already see how horrible my draft is and may scale back my draft spending. (Or should I up it in case one of those 3 ball guys has 5 potential?)

Perhaps one of the advantage is that if you happen to find a super player with perfect height etc etc and you want him so bad, you could decide to intentionally start losing the games quicker, so that you can make sure that you'll end last in the league and get him. But then...I don't think many players will do that :P

The chances aren't very high I guess. Even if you think he's a great prospect, he may turn out to be a useless player just like the guard with pitiful OD and respectable rebounding example you gave.
