Soon it will become a tactic. I buy a 3 million dollar player but don't want anyone to notice so buy a bunch of 1k players after it so that it floods the news headlines ;)

Other obnoxious situation occurs when NT-coaches are scouting. Some NT-couches are somewhat confusing and they keep calling and dismissing the same player many many times and this floods the news page also. If a player is called more than once in, let's say, 2 weeks, it should be shown in the news just once.

As a NT coach I don't try to flood the news page but at the start of the season I was scouting every single decent player in India aged 21 or less - probably about 200 in all and I put the best 60-70 into a database so we knew who to contact for training and who to save if their team went bot. No doubt in every one of the 5 real leagues that was all they saw that week. Very few players were called up multiple times but at the end of the scouting process I then called up the players who would really be part of the team the the saves for the first week.

That's not the point at all, so it's disappointing to hear this argument.

The news feed exists. I made this thread because I think the news feed could do a better job of serving its intended purpose, by filtering out irrelevant "news"- or at least giving you the option to decide what's relevant.

Scouting your opponent is always necessary. Nobody's denying that. If you for some reason think the news feed makes things too easy, maybe suggest eliminating the news feed. But since pro leagues irl require teams to report all transactions to all teams upon completion, and there's a such thing as sports media, I don't see the problem :p

That's true. Also for lower leagues transactions under 100k can be important, and after the draft it's not impossible to land a great trainee for under 100k.

I only bring it up because the filter is there for league teams. So there's a reason why it was implemented, and at least there should be an option.

Now an interesting topic of discussion is whether it should be financially feasible to buy and fire "scrimmage scrubs" in the first place. Unfortunately not enough end-of-bench guys are willing to take minimum salaries and, as a result, the TL market for those who are is inflated. Is there a rival league siphoning off the Sasha Vujacics of BB? ;)

Haha, sure. I need them too! Really though I'm not in favor of anything that penalizes buying scrimmage scrubs. I'm just wondering if maybe there should be more low-salary players in the player pool. For example maybe around 1/3 of each draft class should consist of players with less than 1k salary. Many would still be fired but this would be good for the market and for us.

Not a big issue though, it's purely navel-gazing. I don't think I care too much at all.

Maybe you can have options as to what shows up on your news feed kind of like Facebook does? This would allow owners to set their own parameters for what they want to see. Maybe one person can't stand it when his news is flooded with arena construction/completion posts and another loves them. A filter that allows you to select whether or not you want to see them would be great IMO. I don't necessarily mind seeing the purchases under 100k show up, but obviously some do so give us the option and a check box....and bam! It's personalized....and everyone can sleep easier at night...
