Thanks guys. This gives me a good place to start. Also for a little additional information, I am currently training guards and plan to start my SF training with them for the next two seasons or so. I then plan on switching to train big men and start my SF with them. So maybe it would be a good idea to get that pf and train his guard skills first and then his big skills since they will train faster.

Has anyone ever done something like that?

Oops, did I shoot early again?

I'm currently doing the opposite. I pulled a nominal C with good outside skills who is 6'8, trained him in inside skilsl this season and will proceedd with outside skills from now on.

I think the best height for You to train SF should be 175cm (sorry, I don't understand system with feet and inches).

Inside skills will train very very very slow if u train someone that short.

So there is very very very easy solution - not to train inside skills ;-)

That would result in a SG (or PG) with good inside skills, not a SF. Such a player would be absolutely helpless against balanced or inside SFs.

Goal of this game isn't to have real SF ;-) Goal of this game is to win ;-)
In 5th division good SF isn't needed. In 5th division quick development is needed and therefore 175cm for SF is the best height ;-)
You were in different situation because You received club in 3rd div. But realities in 5th div are different. Manager should promote to 3rd div. as soon as possible and then he will need better players than he can train himself alone. After promotion to 3rd he could think about real SF.

I don't necessarily disagree there. But training a SF needs time, no matter what kind of SF you want. If anything, you should tell people not to train SFs if they aren't experienced managers and do need to have success soon. Which is more or less what you told them, yes; but the advice shouldn't be to train badly skilled SGs but to train Guards as is. You can still use a Guard as a SF some time - just don't expect him to be reliable defensively or flexible offensively.

But training a SF needs time
And therefore real SF training isn't recommended in 5th division ;-) In higher division incomes are higher and therefore development and promotions are more important than real SF. Real SF is needed earliest in 2nd division.

Did you even read my post beyond the point you quoted? That's exactly what I was saying.
