The insurance idea is good. It'll add even more depth to the game.

I got the idea from the NHL - although their long-term injuries means > 2 weeks and once on the IR salary does not count against the cap. What I propose is to defray the salary for the amount of time the player is on IR. But this is just that an idea, a proposal, might not lead anywhere or it might. I have to agree the insurance is interesting - I haven't thought about that.

Wouldn't this negate the need of having a doctor? I think a lot of people would still gamble of not taking the insurance. Perhaps there should be a 10% (or any lowish procentage) refunded while the player is injured. I think the injuries present a good natural TL oportunities. Some teams need to sell in order to compete and some teams find those bargain players and are able to wait until they heal. With 100% of salary refund, there is actually no downside to injuries (you can replace that salary demand with another player or even sell the player and suffer no GS loss, or just make moneytary profite while players are injured etc).

The idea of an insurance is nice.
Another decision to take for the BB manager is always a good one (as far as I can see this).
Especially that in the first divisions there are even fewer than in the lower leagues (which is absurd...).

Of course the insurance money should be proprotional to the salary it covers (and maybe the league as wel... higher league pays more for insurance), and oc course this amount needs to be significant.

I would prefer if it's like the drafts, where there is a certain amount you have to pay per player. This way, if someone hires a good doctor, they can rely less on insurance, while those with basic doctors can invest more just in case.

There is no reason that one will pay the same amount to get insurance for a 20K player like a 2M player.

It may suite some of the users, but that is not the point here.

I'm sure that any user will pay 5$ for insurance for a 2M$ player. This is not a BB managing desicion.

The percentage idea can be an additional feature to this concept.

Regarding the last part;
I'm not sure I got what you've meant.
Doctors tries to help with injuries, but there are injuries that takes time to recover (and some even not that).
Paying insurance and paying a doctor is paying for something totaly different.

Maybe they can put a percentage to the wage? Like 0% insurance, 20% insurance, 40% insurance. Because he has a point there though. Teams who hire good doctors would be paying insurance and hardly getting anything back.

aybe the insurance can be affected by doctors level, like real insurance predict the risk whle making an contract. But you should also consider that they like to earn money to, so you normally pay more then you get back and with the small sums of the salary i think gambling won't be so effective them.

And yes like it was said from Pini, it should depend on the value/salary of the player, since it would be ridicoulus if a 400k center would cost the same like a 5k center.
