i dont agree completely with this statement.
i mean it isnt a thumb rule that if ur opponents team is better then u are to play a slower paced offense(motion in this case).
i mean many factors come into play-
1-the outside defense ofthat team compared to urs.the team who has a higher salaried roster doenst necessarily have a better defence.
2-the offensive flow of ur team.slower paced offenses require players who can pass well coz in a slower paced offense the players pass the ball to the best shooter of the team so that the probability of the shot going in increases.
moreover lets assume that the guard defending the best shooter is a really good defender so he will put in a lot of pressure on the shooter so his shot is more likely to miss but the team will still pass the ball to ur best shooter regardless of the defense of his counterpart.
so taking into consideration these facts i would say that a slower paced offense is not necessarily a better option against better teams.

Like both points you two made (balls to you, too) and this a nice debate.

Another case to be made with the pace is the rebounding. Perhaps the other team is better, but you excel in rebounds. Then, a fast pace offense, that creates more shoots, will help your cause, because that will use your strengh.

It's try and miss... or score!
