heres hoping to a great season

i have a 278k roster, which should be more than enough to get the top 2 spot in my league

The total salary is only a minor piece of the puzzle my friend.

Here are some facts and figures I've collected about division III this season. I was interested in finding out which league was the most competitive league in division III. So I added up the CR and divided by the number of teams, took to top four and divided by four and then measured the distance between the top four and the rest of the league by subtracting the average of the top four from the average of the league. The average margin of error is high, but here are the things I've come up with.

III.4 is boosted a little by (33436) and (24869), but still great job!

DIVISION III.1

Now that Team Dragon has dragged their perfection to a higher level
following a 22-0 season and perfect playoffs, III.1 is wide open...However.
The problems in the Big 8 continue....Too much of a good thing.

The Toronto Knockouts will take over for the Dragon in the great 8 and don't appear to have a rival at the moment, much as was the case for the Dragon is season 18.
The Knockouts are hoping to not only find a way back into Div II but the recipe to stay after twice falling back now.

But the Big 8 conference remains a tough, battle to the end 4 team race.

There are Div III leagues where none of these teams would place 1st or 2nd
but you just have to beat your competitors, so here we go.
The Big Blue returning champs, the 4 Point Players, along with Pork Chops have the best balanced attacks.
The Jordan Jets have gone through their, shoot, we didn't win fire sale, and can retool at anytime, but are currently in a weakened state.
Quantum LeVeRage are going to try and ride the conference's best player and reigning MVP Lluís Picó who sports a ginormous $149,113 salary, however there doesn't appear enough left over for a run at the big 3.

DIVISION III.2

The Montreal Aces have dropped down from Div II and landed rather softly in the right conference in the right division.
Led by the 25 year old backcourt combo of Otcan Erek and Baptiste Sauvat, the Aces hold significant favoured status in the Big 8.
With a decent investment however the deadlynoobs could force a challenge.

The Great 8 has the Binopolis Celtics back after a bitter playoff disapointment.
Off a 20-2 regular season they fell in the conference final.
Led by Canadian PG Jaime Hammond the Celtics are balanced and well stocked for another run and fueled by the playoff ouster.

The Spazs Ballers produced the upset that took out the Celtics are will try and ride MVP candidate SG Omar Baston, but are weak beyond their top 3 starters.
Son Dambi is the best of the rest in the Great 8 but with much work to do to catch the big 2

DIVISION III.3

With the Kitchener Hi Toppers high tailing to Div II,
The Black Guys have been left behind to fight through the gloom of a tough hard fought 3 game final and 5 point loss in the championship game.

The Hi Toppers also left behind a difficult battle in a highly competitive Big 8.
The Harlem Strikers drop down from Div II with a shot to move back led by 26 year old SG Jeremies Sans.
Right now however, the favourites appear to be the Undertow.
Their solid starting 5 hampered for a couple of weeks by the injury to MVP candidate SG Ernests Priede.
Better not discount the Montreal Strippers who had a cup of coffee in Div II a couple of seasons back or the Yasmen who could step it up and make a run like last season's 18-4.

The Black Guys however run out the most solid starting 5 in the division led by triple towers Vaios Tsiftetelis, Jorge Ascenção and Adrià Vázquez Chavarri.
Right now the Vancouver Valley throw the Great 8's 2nd best starting 5 but they are light years from the Black Guys.
Looks like a regular season of takin' it easy for the B' Guys and readying for another run at a championship while the Big 8's contenders beat each others brains in.

DIVISION III.4

Does any Canadian team really know the pain of Venomizer?
Knocked out in the semifinals last season, it ended a run of 6 consecutive seasons under 3 team names in which manager VenomX lost in the league finals and watched the celebration of another promoting opponent.
Will this finally be the year?

Today, they would have to be the favourite.
Led by C Lii Zongwei, they currently have the best balanced attack in the league.

Unfortunately for Venomizer, with the promotion of the Van Cougars, the relegated Silver Palominos have dropped right down into their spot in the Big 8 and will be a problem with another strong 5 man unit and a big Center to match Zongwei in Refael Galili.
Crazy Palomino fact - The relegation ended a run in the same League II since season 2, they even played in that league final for a chance at Naismith a few short seasons ago!

For now, the league's other best team seems to have the other conference all to themselves.
Keep an eye on the Crazy Bongos, not only a finalist last season and with the league's best starting big men in Gumersind Claramunt and Alfredo Luiz Amorim but with the sale of 22 year old up and coming Canadian C Thomas Harte, the Bongs have some money to spend.

DIVISION III.5

It could have been any of 3 teams that promoted in this division last season so the 2 left behind might be a little bitter and hungry.
The Lifters have moved on to greener pastures.
The Shooting Bricks and the Super Bowl Champions Saints did not.
The Bricks earned their way into the final by knocking off SBCS by just 8 and the Bricks suffered a pair of close losses in the final.
What have they done to change their fortunes?
Plenty in the case of the Bricks with the purchases of C Željko Bodiroga and PG Angelo Frosini...The Saints haven't added a player since the start of season 17.
Will fresh blood win out over a line up that will be playing together for a 3rd consecutive season?
We'll see.

On the other side, The Big 8 says hello to Lincoln High, back after a first go at Div II and a 1-21 record there.
22 year old Canadian PF Rafael Gauthier leads the way but more needs to be done.
The Dinosaurs begin a 9th season in the league with the best balanced lineup in the conference but...
All eyes will be on the Cambridge Zombies.
Led by Canadian PG Sean Hare, this is only a 2 deep lineup for now...
But the future is golden.
3 Future Canadian stars are being trained here with 19 year old Center Lucas Bussmann not only carrying the hopes of the Zombies in the future but perhaps Canada's as well.

DIVISION III.6


Good news Div III.6 – The Botwood Raptors are gone,
promoting after perfection.
Certainly the Cavaliers Raptors and Scarborough Mavericks are glad to be rid of them, perhaps ready to step out of the shadow and head toward a championship run.
Both teams have well stocked starting lineups and are ready to fight for the Great 8 title.

Right now the Big 8 is the small 8.
Any team stepping up can with this one including those that have just arrived from division IV.
Last year's Big 8 champ – The Petone Hurricanes (19-3) return with an underwhelming unit that can be easily toppled.
The balanced Chamoines currently sit as favourites after the arrival of PG Miaad Arastouei while the Windsor Warriors sport the top duo in Ignasio Desfar and Antonio Ibañez Irarrazábal plus a group of fine young unproven talent.
The Warriors enter season 4 in Div III after 14 seasons a level above, they surely want to head back there.
