Because of that:
Please make the easy switch to having two teams be each others rival instead of having it be a random mixup..

I am not arguing for or against (but I do thing the current rivalry system is pretty much okay). I just wanted to summarize what is surely known about how the rivalry system currently works. I could add that the main factor for deciding the rivals is probably the number of competitive games between each pair of teams, followed by some sort of analysis on the importance and closeness of these games.

I support your claim, and will add, that I would expect that each team rivalry will be a bi-directional one.
I am not familiar with rivalry that is a single direction...

Regardless of whether there is a limit of two it would be much more realistic and fair if there were eight pairs of teams that had each other as their rivals
