I faced a similar drop in FG% when promoting to D.III, last season.
Not a surprise, as stronger defense is clearly the mark of stronger divisions. Also there are almost no bots and overall it's much more competitive, with very fex easy games.

IMHO Patient will only compound the damage, unless you have the very specific skilsl required.
the defensive values of all players increase on average. So it's harder to find weak spot in the opposing defense. And what could have been a open shot in D.IV is not open any more.

It's hard to compete for offense the year you promote. I suggest you boost your defense to stay in league, and patiently built your offense over several seasons, because offense is much more expensive.

I'm seeing the same thing. After starting last season in an all bot Div V, my FG% was kind of ridiculously high. Human managers did end up joining the league, but they were just starting out so didn't do much to slow down my shooting. Now, in Div IV, I'm struggling to keep my FG% above 40. Luckily, I've been able to eke out some ugly wins, but my stats are certainly not pretty.

Experience could also be a factor. In higher division their is usually more emphasis on Experience.

Your players might have lower quality shots because of the overall increase in defensive value, and they may make poorer decisions because a lack of Experience.

my words may look ordinary but some new users think that slower pace gives better percentage on default because slower pace searches for better opportunities..

Slower pace does mean fewer bad shots, generally. It also means fewer good shots.

Barca needs a shot clock ;)

Actually they had 22 shots against Chelsea's 6 (3 on goal...2 goals).

If Barca were to discard the tikki takka style they would lose way more matches. They lost 4 matches this season - all by only 1 goal.
Their tikki takka is the best defence in football, hard for the oppostion to score when Barca has the ball for 70-80% of the match.

Anyways...this is basketball and you can't play tikki takka ..thank god for the shot clock.

Really you don't want to see LeBron James dribbling around for an entire quarter to take 1 shot? You don't want to see NBA games won by scores of 8-5?

Never heard of "tikki takka", is that Danish?
It was a fluke, Chelsea were so lucky. I don't think the tactics were wrong. It's hard to make "early" crosses when the whole team stands in their box all the time.
I think Denver is the only team, I'd watch for good offensive basketball, but I wouldn't say they're Barca of basketball :)

tikki takka

Ticky-tacky

p---- footing

all the same

Edit: living in Denver, I see a lot of Nuggets.... George Karl, not the best coach... The offensive basketball, has more to do with "taking advantage of the altitude" then actual coaching. Higher elevation, you get tired more. Defense takes a lot more energy than offense.

I don't think he means that. Barca don't play "ticky-tacky" style of football, whatever it might mean.
I believe George Karl is one of the five best coaches in NBA currently. High altitude or not, uptempo game makes for a good spectacle, and it's intelligent, it's not Don Nelson :) Too bad Gallo got fat and slow, I can see Nuggets beating the Fakers next year!
