Well... Im not really sure if its possible with 18 years old guy.:)


You really want us to tell you an ideal build at 18? That is just silly. It will totally depend on what he starts with and what level trainer you have. Also it won't be much different for MVP than any other potential.

The ideal build at end of 18 year old should be starting skills all of 7 ofcourse. and at the end of 18 year he should look like this:

Height 5.10

8 7
8 7
7 7
10 10
9 8

81 skillpoints

age 19:

9 8
9 7
7 7
13 13
10 9

At age 20:

10 8
10 8
8 8
15 15
12 10

Plays at U_21 being 5.10 tall as a starting CENTER, trains skills to like this:

then switches to outside training and after some years at age 31 as finished product he looks something like this:

At age 33 stamina 10 free thows 20.

This build is impossible for a couple of reasons. First of all, it is impossible to ever have a build with 20DR and only 13HA. Even if you started with 1 HA (the lowest possible) and 7 DR (the highest possible) there's still only a difference of 6. And due to a combination of elastic effect and height, handling will only close the gap. So HA would be at least 15, which would be a fairly substantial cap hit.

Second, that build right there is almost 150 skill points. I don't think there's been a player with even 140, even players with awesome starting skills and who have had level 7 trainers their whole lives.

Third, 20 IS and 20 OD on the same player is pretty much impossible. There are fairly severe penalties training OD on tall players, and IS and SB on short players.

Fourth, you're probably not going to get all inside skills 13 or better and still have only 3 rebounding with elastic effect. Of course, this is a fairly minor detail.


So this build is so far out of the realm of possibility that you'd never even get close, cap concerns aside. But a player like this would definitely be pretty killer.

Guys, I know that determine ideal skill set is hard (or even impossible) but i wrote " YOUR" ideal skill set. It doesn't matter if it's HoF or MVP, the important thing is that he's got high potential. All I want to know is how would you like your trainee PG to look at the end of 18 ( I hope i wrote it right...) maybe 19 and 20. Rather, it should show how he could look like or maybe how important is which skill at which period of training. If you want, you can start with SS10=50 and all skills at 5.

Training 1v1 doesn't train handling and driving equally so it is possible to have 20 handling and 13 driving. It's like for every 4 driving pops you'll get 3 handling pops.

I actually agree with Jon Laurent here. I don't know at all why, but just speaking from my own experience, having drafted and trained a player currently on my roster (Cedrick Pagan) who had that starting combination of 1 handling and 7 driving, I know that handling will at least initially increase faster than driving. I have not single-position trained handling and I've done a lot of 1v1, but right now Pagan is still 10/15 HA/DR. So as you can see, handling has increased faster than driving, which would seem to rule out the possibility of a 13/20 build.

Well, thats my fault. Its hard to say exactly what you think in other language, there are forms in both our languages that are not existing in other one.

The point is - realistic build for young PG, not 20,20,20,20 etc. Let's say he looks like this:

whats his height? its extremely important for training. for example i drafted 6.8 tall pg, he was like this

I am training him as center now, looks at age 20 like this:

8 5

and final built at age 27 or so gona be like this:

7 12
14 16
16 14
14 7
