Nah, it tends to be a equal mix of luck and minutes. When a guy has GS of 9 they are fairly likely to drop anyways. Plus 74 minutes is a tad bit on the high side.

I bet he is on the high end of a 7 so it might not be so bad.

GS is manageable.

Why is this in the Help forum ? Put it on the rant forum. It's not helpful, it's misleading to those who are looking for advices.

Too bad..
My friend have a U21 USA player.
He managed to have 72mins a week before the U21 World Championship.
However, the player's GS drop from 8 to 7. He missed the game and USA lost in final too....

Im getting 60-65 mins a week...Primarily for my starters and my back ups too. I have had a few that popped from respectable to profecient. I expect the others to eventually move up. Might be because of the age diffrence in my players....my 31 and older guys tend to take a little bit slower to get to 9 while my MVP's popped right up to 9 and they are in they're early to mid 20's.

I look at GS as the player's overall physical, mental, even spiritual shape for the week.

Even in real life, a coach or GM can do as much as they possibly can do for the team, and still some things can be "off" with a player.

Maybe the player caught a bit of a cold. Maybe the player had an uncle pass away. Maybe the player is suffering from a sudden lack of confidence.

The player isn't injured, but is not at 100% playing capability. It is just a game, and while randomness can be crushing (ie. affecting game outcomes, promotion, etc), it is definitely not boring and it forces you to come up with a different plan or course of action through some creativity.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

On the other side, how many times do you go over 75 minutes and get a GS boost. Nobody ever posts about that as it is much easier to complain about something.

You can't just take 1 example and say, "Oh my god, my player got 65 mintues and went down in GS. WTF?"

I keep track of every players minutes and GS for every week since I've started. I don't have the data in front of me right now, but I know a large % of the time, I have nothing to complain about when proper minutes are given.

The times that I go over in minutes, I expect a penalty and again, a large % of the time I don't get away with it. But sometimes I do and get no drop or even an up.

If you give us some more data, example:

Player X played between 60-65 minutes/week 17 times over the past 3 seasons. 12 times he had a GS drop, 3 times he stayed the same, and 2 times he had a GS up. THEN you would have a case for GS randomness being too large.
