Must admit, I was thinking the same thing - just let the team in the same country. I guess aside from the one game they would play each other, there is a bit of a risk that teams could manipulate results (such as CTing a team with their second team that is close in the standings with their first team) etc. But I guess if you are good enough to get two teams in the top division, you deserve a reward!

Not concerned about farm teams to be honest. Mainly because I wouldn't mind seeing a few farm teams here! And it may have the result of leveling up the competition, considering I expect China already has farm teams, whereas we really don't.

China already has a number of farm teams and it makes them the best, most other countries probably have one or two. While allowing a second team would also allow the chinese to have more farm teams I think they already get most of their best talent so would see only a marginal increase whereas Australia would see a significant jump in its talent level.

For example, imagine if 10 Aus managers had a second team purely as a farm team. They have saved money over a number of seasons and have 1.5 mil each. This season 5 of them buy stud 18yo's, next season the other 5 do the same, and this is on top of the other draftees who are kept by their managers. Imagine the depth well organised countries would now have.

A secondary team couldn't be a farm team. Read the forum post about the proposed rules:

2. Country restriction: Secondary teams cannot play in the same country nor buy players from the primary team's original country.

which is a good thing

but people could do deals with other nations.

NT manager in country A gets a 10 managers to set up teams to train in country B
and then NT Manager of Country B gets 10 to do the same in country A

I know, that is under the proposed rules, but we kind of moved on to without some of the caveats as they are either too restrictive or don't make a lot of sense. Clearly the above highlighted rule is to prevent farm teams, however I think would actually be one of the big selling points of being allowed a second team

Those are some of the cons that could happen. People will always try to develop ways to get around a loop hole.

People who do not have supporter will contemplate now whether to pay that ~$40 for chance to start in a new country. This will bring in a bit more revenue for BB to help grow the game.

The question is whether I want to make a second team in a micro nation or a big nation like USA. I'll probably prefer USA over a micro nation. More competition, and more sense of achievement if I ever make it from div5 to div1.

If they did allow us to do that then I would definitely make a second team in a micronation. Dwell in div1 or div2 to hoard the cash whilst training some aussie trainees. 3mil for a top aussie trainee? No problem. 2mil for a level7 trainer? No problem. When the trainees salary jumps to 150k+? No problem I'll have enough revenue to cover the increased salaries.

Seems like flag chasing will be easier to achieve if a secondary team does come into effect. =P
Will you start a second team in Paskistan with a few other users in div1 or start one in USA with 2000 other users starting from the bottom in div5?

Personally I'll probably start one in Wales (Cymru).

All i have to say is this.

If, back in season 11 or whenever it was i started playing this game, i found out after 4-5 weeks that, as a new user, I was battling in Div IV against Supporter user's '2nd teams'.... supporters who also have teams in the top leagues around the world, and have been playing the game for real life years longer than me.....

then there is
a) No way i would buy supporter
and
b) I would probably think "This is shite" and quit the game.

I remember when i started, finding out that I was playing against guys who had been around for 1 season more than me, made me feel crapola, challanging, and generally they buggered off, but i was a bit like 'hmmm well that sux' and it questioned why i would play the game.
so have a think about all the new users who will be starting, and playing against ur second team.

Well I think it's a great idea, the reason the micro nations are stuggling is because every time new players come on, they go "oh man it's all just bots" then they quit.

IF the active nations around the world can add to their nations active teams pool then it might make it more interesting for those people and they might stick around long enough for their tiny nations to build up at least a full league of active managers.

the restrictions on secondary teams seems to make it so having a primary team is of no benefit except you have prior knowledge of the game mechanics, that's really it.

I'm all for the idea and think it will be nothing but a good thing for BB in smaller nations.
