it indeed is brought up several times. I do not think there is a real long thread anywhere, but rather several shorter ones. I also think this will keep re-appearing every end of the season.

The few good things that came out of them where:

1] if the relegation games did not bring along revenue, it would be prety fair.
2] when in 5th place you indeed get less games (not always since you get an extra scrimmage each of the 2 weeks, and I think that in the relegation games the looser does not get more games then that either), you get less money (no revenue, BUT you are safe from relegation, which might be a prety good thing, unless you are in the botom division.

Bottom 4 in the conference are scheduled against the bottom 4 in the opposite conference.

The 8 teams carry forward the results 10 regular season games against the other teams in the Bottom 8 (6 games against the other 3 teams in their conference, and 4 games against the oppositie conference). The 4 relegation playoff games will complete a double round robin for the 8 teams (14 games). The bottom 4, regardless of conference will relegate.

The team that was away for the regular season game, will host the playoff game. This will have the effect of balancing the schedule for competitive purposes, but the gate revenue will be split (50-50).

1st, I am a 5th placer. If the 2nd place team had of defeated the 4th place team in my conference I would have come in 4th. and I was several points ahead of 6th. regardless, I would not have thrown the game to try to get to 6th, for fear of relegation. however (lack of) revenue is killer for us 5th place teams. maybe the 5th, 6th and 7th place team could share the revenue 3 ways? for the relegation matches played in each conference??

well, many many posts have been spent on this issue, and truely there are noumerous solutions.

1 of the best I've seen so far is taking away the revenue form the relegation games.
However in what you say there is another potentially good solution, but it should be explained in an other way, since it's not logic that teams will split up revenue with teams that are not realy playing games and so on.

A solution could be to have the relegation tournament find place in the arena of the 5th seeded. None of the relegation teams has home court advantage, and that way the revenue could easely be split 30/30/30 (and 10% goes to charity means).

An other solution could be to make it an exhibition game between the 2 5th placed teams. 1/3 of the revenue is for the home team, and 2/3 is for charity. Depending on the PR manager and his ability to warm people to come over to support charity a certain amount of money could then flow into the home team.

There are tons of other solutions, but so far none has been introduced. I also did not realy see any BB react. It is quite possible they want it to stay the way it is...

i want to see a big tournamentt(maybe league like) against relegation, where the 5th and the 8th place could be part of. because 2,5 weeks without any serious game are some kind of boring.
Maybe the fith and 6th got an advantage in those tournamen with more homegames etc. -

I don't think we will see that soon. After all the logic that the last placed team drops, and that a 5th placed stays is more than obvious, it should not change in my opinion.
I'm sure there are much more interesting solutions available.

I'm not sure how they handle it, but i think it is the right driection when they are doint something against this long break.

actually this break is not so long, it's only 2 weeks...
In the meantime you still can train.
Since we all know in advance it will be 2 weeks without incomming money, we all can plan ahead. Most teams have a TV game towards the end of the season, if they are smart enough they don't spend it but keep it for the end of season break. It should be more then sufficient to cover those 2 weeks...
It realy should not be any economical problem, and training is still possible, so I can't see the problem here.
