Unfortunately the upcoming games come too soon for us to safely switch home and away without impeding on those who have already set your lineup. What we are going to do is switch home and away for the tiebreaker, so that the correct team will have the correct number of home games in this best of three. We recognize that enthusiasm strategies will be affected, but we hope that this is an acceptable compromise. The bug has been squelched, and will not show up for anyone next season.

Sorry about this, and good luck! The correct home and away teams for the tiebreaker will be set shortly.

Thanks for your efforts!

It changes my strategy a little, but winners shouldn't let the circumstances get in their way :)

thanks again,

i suspect its probably affecting 50% of those people in the finals who are going against a team with the same record... so not a lot of people but some..

That's a really bad solution. I was convinced that I would play at home. Thus I had setup my enthusiasm tactics according to the scheme home-away-home. Now suddenly I am throwing away the chance to play TIE in the way game, which does not let me build up my enthusiasm as needed. There has to be a better fix than this.

It was a bad problem with no good solutions. I can't really think of a better way to have dealt with it, myself.

Stop the simulations and fix the problem as it was know in advance. Easy.

From being a alight favourite to advance I am now suddenly in really bad position. If Im lucky I still win today, but that is not likeley at all.

Furthermore, as they knew it a couple of days in advance the least they could have made an announcement (in red of course) where they notified about this problem.

I think that was rejected since although it was known in advance, rescheduling the fixtures meant removing existing orders, and so teams that had already set their orders and didn't login again (or did login but didn't re-check their orders) would end up with default lineups and so really be screwed. (See the BB reply in (26731.6).)

Like I said, I don't think there were good solutions. I think the one chosen minimized the total grief, but some users (including you) had to end up taking a hit.

I agree that an announcement was called for.

It was not known a couple of days in advance. Taking the posts above at face value, it looks like the time was at least as short as 14 hours, and probably less in some countries. That's not enough time to expect affected users to reset their lineups, IMO.

No, but you must admit that chances are that a lot more managers would have done so if there at least wa some kind of information.

Right now I feel that it really sucks that I have payed supporter (it will probably go ower though), and that's something I never felt in all the time I have played Hattrick.
