Unless you are training an outside big, I would not worry about training JR at all. The data suggests that JS is the main skill used for all JS and JR really only becomes a factor for 3 point shots. JR trains very very slow on big men so if you want JR on a big man, I would make sure that you get a guy with alot of JR.

I agree with Phyr, unless you are planning to run a lot heavy Outside attack (Patient/R&G/Princeton) the advantages don't outweigh the costs as JR mainly effects 3 point shots. Long 2s in any offense (outside of Patient really) tend to be forced ones at so you'd rather hae high HND/DR for your big to create good inside shots and force fouls.

That being said, if you have a young player with 6 or 7 JR, training to 10-12 isn't too much trouble and it can be helpful for those few games were you can exploit poor OD bigs.

+1 headless t gunner.

jr on bigmen is very nice to have and gives you the advantage of beeing less predictable.
if you have a trainee invest a few weeks in jr training. jr 9 is already very nice to have and good enough for most of the competition. furthermore I agree with nachtmahr on the JS/JR balance.

I'm afraid between JR/OD and the time it takes to train
you can't have an abundance of both

You of course have to train all the other skills too!

I have a 5th PF, his OD is 14 (ID is 15)
but his JR is only 6

Can't have everything on 1 guy but you can spread it out
Or of course you will run out of money
besides this is my first run at B3, thought I'd make a go of it
