Defense comes first.
JR doesn't have to be nearly as high as JS.

I love the outside skills of the player you've created, however I agree with Manon, Sparky and EBW, his defence is appalling and wouldn't cut it in your division. Regarding your comment about the having four good defenders, if teams scout well, they'll realise he's your weakness and exploit him too.

I'd do very similar to the others, -3 PA, -2 SB, -1 JR and +1 ID and +5 OD, now for me, he is a better looking player who will be a scoring machine but can also do a job defensively.

If that's the case, then remove an OD and a PA, that'll decrease the salary somewhat, not sure by how much.

I think the most important skill for a me-first player is DR IMHO. I think DR impacts how well a players using his JS/JR/IS. From the game manual:

Driving: Allows the player to create his own shot without a good pass from a teammate. Better driving creates shots more often and creates better shots on average

You still want to have good levels of JS, JR, and IS for a scorer but I always found that a shooter shoots better and an inside scorer scores inside better with high levels of DR.

I have a guy on my team that has alot of JS/DR and only 8 JR that is top 10 in my USA DII league in 3-point % and #2 in PTS/48 (#5 in all of USA DII)
