same exact scenario....actually much worse..
I was over 150k under.
I just added 2 50k salariestoday....they were both old though.

You get 1.75 million for promoting and draft picks.

You can turn that into around 50k salary U32. 3 such players sold today that I noticed.


Question is if I want to add a rotting corpse to my roster if I want to remain in the league and improve from season to season. I don't like old players as it really frustrates me to see the skills drop.

When I first promoted to DIV I, I bought a decent center for like 1.8 million, which was an extreme amount of money back then. I'd probably get the 10 year older version of the same player for even more money these days.

So maybe take Perpete's advice and just pay the floor and be happy with 100~200k beyond costs you'll make weekly anyway.


What type of advice is that, really? If the environment does not allow to compete in the higher league, we don't need to discuss if tanking is an issue, if it is a way of playing the game that is seemingly forced upon managers.

I am shopping for an older guy to close the gap and see where I will end up in the next few weeks - possibly the lost skills won't hurt as much as I expect. Maybe a good chunk of money from a rookie sale comes in, who knows....

Yup, those are my options and I think I will have to balance between all four of them.

I'll sell two more young guys, get one old guy (hey at least they have the XP advantage), waste my precious time in the hunt for a legit player, only to overpay anyways.

Hey,

I'm in the same situation was 80000 under salary floor, cost me 2600000 to get above it! The players i bought are not even D1 standard..

I personally think they have to fix the bonus if they are going to have such a high salary floor in D1..

Surely the bonus should cover the purchase of 1 outstanding player?

With current prices the bonus needs to be closer to 5Million right?

So i should tank?

With my extremely salary efficient side i went 21-1 in Dii ive already been back in dii for 2 seasons of training, i did plan ahead but then the market went crazy due to utopia.....

I should try not to promote to save money???
