For the players being considered for the U21 team this year, this is how many pops they all got last season.
17 x 1 player
15 x 1 player
14 x 4 players
13 x 1 player
12 x 5 players
11 x 2 players
10 x 3 players
9 x 5 players
8 x 4 players
7 x 3 players
6 x 1 player
5 x 1 player
4 x 1 player

This is what it's going to take to get your player on the team now. Bar, raised.

Players under 7 pops I almost disregard right away as it shows me they're not invested in the player and might not train them at all in their 21 year old season.

17 pops comes with a slight asterisk. 12 of the pops came from 1v1 training. We can't just all get maximum pops just training 1v1 every week. For example, 12 primary pops with 0 pops coming from 0 weeks of 1v1 is far more valuable.

But overall, I'm really happy with how our training is going.

I really want to focus on:

1) filling each position with a couple quality bodies -- last year we had 4 quality PFs but 0 monster Cs with high IS and ID. With 3 PFs and 1 C or 2&2 we would have enjoyed even more success

2) not wasting MVP/HOF/ATG with people who don't train them properly or at all -- really tough to do, but if I can either help train them or convince them to sell and get the player into the hands of an experienced manager with a lvl 7 trainer, it's very gratifying as U21 coach

3) helping along inexperienced managers and making them experienced ones -- with U21, we succeed and fail together. We can't expect the same trainers to pump out players season after season. Rosters, time, money, are limited, and if we have a bigger group of trainers, we'll have a bigger group of sweet ass players to pick a team from

Let's keep getting into a position where it's very difficult to pick a roster of 18 from a group of 25,30,35 worthy players instead of scrambling to find 10 good ones and then fill the roster out with people who hopefully don't have a horrid +/- when they enter the game. We are getting closer.

Long article over!

LETS GO CANADA!

30 19yr olds left and scouting is done for the season.

Then getting back to the 26 managers so far who have already replied to the initial BBmail. Fantastic!

Down to 9 BBmails. Thanks for your patience.

Monday scrimmage win vs Thailand, 135-114. (39921)
Kind of threw together a team for this one, and mixed it up between 20 and 21 year olds.
7 out of 10 players who saw minutes shot over 50% and Brammer had a triple double! 20 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds from PF position!

I know it's just a scrimmage, but it's a damn fun game so far this morning!

After a terrible defensive first quarter, giving up 36 points, Canada has roared back into the game with 38 in the second. Trailing by 7 at half, we have a game against a team we might see at worlds.

U21 Worlds Groups are out:

Pool A- China, France, Hungary, South Africa, Ukraine, USA
Pool B- Canada, Estonia, Spain, Lithuania, Senegal, Taiwan

Will have to play well to make it out of group as we are likely in the 4-5 range.

1/2 vs Ukraine
1/9 vs Spain
1/16 vs Eesti
1/23 vs Senegal
1/30 vs Taiwan

Thoughts on the sched and any of the teams I'd gladly get into a BBmail conversation about, but not on the forums.

Big win 113-98 (40634)

Three 20 year olds on the roster, 2 starting, and they both played huge roles.
Beiguo with 30 pts (14/28) and 7 rebounds.
McNamara with 11 pts (5/9) and 10 assists.

Next up is Spain, who lost to Taiwan in OT!

We are taking on Spain now! Somehow we are up 10-5 but I certainly don't expect that to last.
Come chat! It's me vs. all the Spain guys hahahaha.
