I agree that it would need a larger sample and some more statistical proof but subjectively, I've had lot's of key games lost due to injuries. Again, it's just personal experience.

It would take substantial effort to get that statistical data, so unless there is a large consensus that what you're saying is true for everyone, we sadly don't have time to do it.

I don't see a problem here, this happen IRL. Portugal lost Ronaldo due to injury in the final and still won Euro 2016

Stamina hasn't been mentioned, as a factor for this occuring from time to time.
The stamina of all parties involved, the injured player, his sub and their counterpart.
I've witnessed many times when someone got injured that his sub(and the team in all) played pretty well for at least the first minutes after the substitution.
