You should have been around when people had negative values...that would have been fun.
Many people simply fire players now, as the firings do not count towards the sale count. Unless you have a very stable roster and replace 3 or 4 players per season at best, selling players for 1k or low amounts may significantly penalise you on the tax you pay on the players you sell for high amounts.
