I believe some are slightly less blind than others and their advice is helpful to many, especially newbies. To tell a newbie not to invest in the draft is questionable, and more the reactionary opinion of an unhappy user than unbiased advice.

I would tell newbies to spend as much as they can afford on the draft so they have the best chance of getting a quality pick since it is highly likely they will finish low in their league if they are new to the game.

As far a PR guy goes, I have a level 10 and generally rake in between 39 and 50 grand per week. I don't know how much a level 4 guy would get me and whether it would be a better net gain since the salary would be lower. I am not willing to test the waters because I am happy with my 18-29k net profit from jerseys, t-shirts, bobbleheads, and mouse pads.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Thanks Master :)

Some of us had the impression these weren't really questions but rather statements ;-)

"Question number one is if you think that after a similar season 300 fans more is acceptable"

Yes. The system includes a soft ceiling for fan growth - and grace to your good management you have come close to it.

"and number 2, I never understood what PR is doing, now I know that he doesn't worth his salary but he influences also the fan basis or not? The fan survey is related also to his lvl?"

a) Influence fan basis: Yes.

b) Fan survey related to PR level: yes, indeed. The rules mention in the fan survey section, that a good PR can influence the fan's perception of the team's achievements.

The relevant quote from the rules concerning number of fans and their behaviour:

"When BuzzerBeater fans don't like the way you are running your team, they are less likely to buy merchandise and attend your games. Even worse, some of them will change loyalties and support competing teams! Conversely, fans will reward a well-run team with their attention, and their money. A skilled PR-Manager may be able to help fans focus more on your team's achievements, and less on its shortcomings."

First of all, thanks ;)

About 1) ok 300 new fans but why other teams with worst position in championship and out from the cup before me have got more fans than me? This is really strange.

a) Thanks even if linked to the point 1 it sounds more than really strange cause I had a lvl 10 PR all the last season
b) Thanks a lot; I didn't understand if the PR has an influence or if a low PR lvl can give you wrong information, thanks ;)

some more matches.
If in an identical situation with you they shouldn't receive more.

But take my team for example: I received ~750 new fans, much more than you. But I started from 1.100 so I had some "reserves". Being in D.II now, I am still one of the weaker teams in terms of STH.

Last season I won the Championship in D.III and had some other good matches. But to me a e.g. 4th place in D.II is the higher achievement and I would be happy to take that for this season. And yes, even though I value that higher, I would probably receive less new fans for that. Because I would no longer be that much below average STH than before and because probably I lost some matches more.

Basically I agree with the system that there is a corridor for each type of division (also for the top), determinatingg how much fans are adequate and possible for a certain division. Otherwise a serial runner-up in division IV would on the long run have more fans than a struggling Top-Division team.

Hey ned,

one more: (40617.549) (from BB-Charles, he read our thoughts).

Worth reading it all, but it already starts with:

"It's probably worth mentioning the skill of your PR guy when trying to look at attendance. Some top teams invest heavily and some do not, and his skill definitely affects the formulas."

Cheers
Pallu

Yes, I've seen thanks a lot Pallu ;)

I've invested 24k/week in the wrong season, now I'll stay with my great PR lvl 1 hoping in a new one with lower salary

let us not get away from the promise of people here,

firstly i was drawn away by the mere people who said they got this and that from a level 10 PR guy.

in truth he needs time to work on his raport, when i newly hired a level 10 guy i wasnt happy with him with the merchandise sells and i tell you even with him around i experience a roller coaster ride in my attendance. meaning it drop really a significant number.

when i hire mine , im already in div 1 and im one of the top teams. only to find a small significant increase in merchandise sales though it struggled ( remember its not maintained ) by around 4.5k - 5k from my normal sales when i havent hired him.

it took me more than a month to see that increase to 50k+++,

now the attendance, the changes made this season was to let it not solely be controlled by how your team run it , meaning if your winning it then your getting more people to come to watch your games but now there is a mix up with the level of PR you got and arena pricing and how you perform. sorry cant provide much details here but hope it helps

if that is so then we cant justify his salary to the work he done directly.

probably the merchandise sales are just his side work not really what he does.

maybe we shouldnt just quantify his work results with monetary terms probably there isnt a maintaining or big change that great that could influence the course of the attendance.

as i said even with the new formula i think if your having losses probably you would still feel the sting in the loss of attendance from game to games
