And remember too, that even when a pop does not occur, a player who has received training does go up in a particular skill (or skills when secondary training is involved). So don't be too bummed out if a particular trainee doesn't pop every time...Pappy

So the large DMI's I see on good players and the smaller DMI's on lousy players have no correlation?
It seems the best players all have larger DMI's. Is it because they have developed more?
So a low starting DMI is not necessarily bad?

It is heavily influenced by game shape. Better form results in better DMI (of the player).
