PINOY CONNECTION SIGNS FIRST FILIPINO CAGER
The rebuilding process of the Singaporean league II.2's only foreign-owned team PINOY CONNECTION has made a major breakthrough. And this came in the person of a 21-year old slasher from the Philippines.
Allan Garcia, who plays small forward for Philippine II.1's Lia Cruz team, has recently completed the paperworks that formalizes his transfer to the Singapore-based team. Standing 6'6" tall, Garcia is expected to train hard and create an instant impact on his new team within the next few weeks.
"The PINOY CONNECTION is so proud of having been able to bring in the very first Filipino player in Singapore's BB community. With his youthful exuberrance, we are expecting him to help the team in creating a major impact in the local basketball scene." an excerpt from a statement released by the PINOY CONNECTION's management.
Garcia, who has an all-star potential, is expected to plunge into hard-nosed training starting today. "The goal is to turn Allan into a multi-dimensional player like Scottie Pippen or LeBron James. A small forward that can pass, shoot and defend. I hope we succeed in moulding him into the player we want him to be." said Coach_Perry when asked as to what the team plans with the new signee. "The team have a lot of new faces. 5 at this point. And we hope to continue re-building our current roster. Losses are expected for the first season of our entry but we are quite hopeful that we could make a big turnaround once the potentials of our new faces are maximized."
To Allan Garcia, congratulations in making your entry into foreign soil. We are all hoping that you'll bring pride and honor to our country.
