I am not actually suggesting a playoff between the 5th and 8th seed. I am suggesting a scrimmage between the teams on the Tuesday... much like the forced scrimmages that happen on Saturday between the 5th/5th teams and the 8th/8th team.
The 8th place teams would still relegate, the 5th place teams would still stay put. I just think it is a bit unfair for 4 teams to completely get hosed out of an extra game that 75% of the league is getting.
As I said elsewhere, it is only for the first Tuesday in the playoff weeks. Every other Tuesday would be off... since the vast majority of teams will also not get a Tuesday game during the second week.
