For highly skilled teams these effects will be reduced, for middle of the road teams this effect will be relatively unchanged, and there will be a small bump in home court advantage for weaker teams.

Can you tell us what you mean by a "weaker team"? Is it defined based on the team ratings (if so, is it some kind of average or every rating is influenced by HCA individually, depending on how high it is) and is it absolute or relative?

I hope the total amount of rebounds have lowered.

I mean, in BB things like "Out of bounds", or "team rebound" dont exist.

Would be nice though, and an option with a "rebound preference", like in NBA.

Other than help defence, can inside guys use shotblocking to alter shots? Such that shotblocking is actually useful now?

at present you are correct, that only the HCA/enthusiasm changes should affect the team ratings, however we are considering changing the rebounding team rating to better reflect the new engine, but that change has not been made.

i am not going to get too specific in my answer but middle of the road for me means relevant skills in the respectable-proficient range. you should just be aware that there is a change and realize that you need to recalibrate your sense of what these factors give you as you did with the original factor, and my broad description should guide you in making that recalibration. I am not going to explicitly lay out the formulas however.

we want to implement this in the future, but we need to make changes to the match viewer to make this possible so those changes were not included in this update.

Shotblocking should be more useful now, that is all i will say, its up to you to determine how useful it is. The feedback i'd like from you is your feeling as to how much more useful it is, and whether the community still feels that it is a useless skill after these changes. Hopefully not, but we will see.

1. The offensive rebound performance of V. Mehtonen in this game (12709004) seems a bit odd.

2. Is Full Court Press a zone defense? (assume not)

3. Won't these changes lower the usefulness of man-to-man defense(s), because here you'll rely on the defensive weaknesses of your defenders (inside of guards, outside of big men), whereas in zone defenses on their defensive strengths?

1. Thanks for this, this feedback is useful, let continue to let me know if you see out of whack games like this.. or out of whack in the other direction. Some of this might be fixed if/when we redesign the rebounding team rating.

2. No its not.

3. I think the answer to this question is more complicated than i care to give. However, just think about how zone works in real life and I think you will see why the answer is more complicated.

Same example, but with the old engine - (8689607) . I don`t think it`s that odd.
