I donno, I remember a while back there was a guy in the forums with a guard with good driving and js/jr but atroctios inside shooting and his fg% was terrible. Maybe the match engine has changed since then though. I suppose it also depends on tactics.

i got a guard with average IS, solid driving who shoot 2,7Points in 20m last season, and mtly plays when i am playing li ;)

My other guards with IS 1 works better in this situation, when it comes to scoring^^

My opinion is that inside shot consists mostly of layups and dunks and inside players need a solid jump shot ability in addition to being able to dunk in order to be successful. I believe I read somewhere in the forums that driving is more heavily weighted when considering the likelihood of a drive to the basket is to succeed.

So would a player with extremely good jumpshot will be able to make up for his crappy free throw skill?

Free Throws depend on the FT skill and how fatigued you are. Your JS skill will have no effect on your success in FTs.

Whether that is legitimate or not for the engine to work that way is another discussion, but that is how it works here.

Because they arent all that related in real basketball. I think it is safe to say that Shaq would have a very high IS, and good JS and poor JR. However, his free throws are atrocious :)

i have very different experience. I have a player with .759 FG and his jump shot is not worth to mention. Actually he has better range than JS. Another my guy shooting good percentages also but significantly worse (.568 Fg currently) has the same IS as the first one but have better jump shot.

i think IS affects only hook shots, back to basket play, tip ins, turnaround jump shots(?) and such things. i believe driving is a finishing on its own. And maybe can influence other things also.
