eee...I think that there should be a 3 min ex.
if there''ll be in someday that rule...nobady gonna sell enything...the bidders will wait for the end of the sell...and than bid...no can do...
...but agree on the market value...
regards

I don't think this will happen. Look at ebay - there is no 3 minutes and people bid even a few days before the end of the auction (and man, these are real money! :-)).

Changing this system would be very difficult, indeed, and though I like ebay system more I got used to this and have no big problem with it.

Ebay have another system then BB where it could make sense to bid earlier

in ebay you bid 10 bucks early, but only pay 5 bucks when you don't find someone who bids more then that.

In BB with this proposal you will pay ten from the beginning, and in the end you just had to outbid at the end of the bidding arena, and nobody could react so if you wait long you could get a pretty good deal.

Yeah I know this and that was what I meant by "changing this system would be difficult" - I meant BB system to current ebay system. I think these are the only two real possibilities how to create meaningful bidding system - either you set 3 minutes or you set maximum bid system. And if BBs change this system, they would have to change to ebay system and that would be dificult I guess. And moreover and I cant see any reason why they would do this.

the ebay system won't come, they like the activity aspect which is maybe also good for the ad income where ebay gets money for high bids who they maybe spend to advertise sneakers here^^(don't know it exactly, i don't see ads)

SIMPLE WAY TO FIX THIS DEBATE-

Give the seller an option on how their auction goes.

Option #1 current system, or the 'standard' option.

Option #2 Seller set's a 'Buy-out' option. This is a large sum that they will accept a immediate sail of their player for that amount. So lets say they set the min bid for 2000 and the buyout for 10000. You can bid and hope to get the player cheap or buy him now for 10000. otherwise the bidding process works like option #1.

Option #3 The max value option. The auction is for 1 week with a 1 week extension everytime the bid is updated. In this case you have 1 week to go in look at a player and make a bid if the current bid is in your price range.

Option #1 is for your average seller who wants to make money, but relatively soon (they are determined to get rid of said player).

Option #2 is for sellers who just want to get rid of the player as fast as possible.

Option #3 is for sellers who only want to sell their player for exactly what he is worth.

Buyers will love browsing the option 2s, rarely consider option #1s and respect the option 3s.

Great players will be sold via option 3 fairly. Lebron James would be an option 3 sale.

Like in the NBA or any other major professional sports league players of different values are handled differently and the amount of effort put into selling and buying them is different.

and stuff.

The bidding system atm is fine. Nothing you have proposed will make it better, it will make it chaotic.
