I started in season 3.
I continually overpay for players I want and sell my players at a loss, and somehow I manage to continue winning occasionally. I have only tried to make money off the market a few times and have only actually done so once. I used to have a very low team salary so I managed to save a lot of money. Now I have a bunch of old-timers and no money in the bank.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.
