Hey there SchaBoom. Thanks for the well wishes and I hope you had a good xmas and ny. As for the MVP votes, I'm not too sure what you mean. I was going to do Saturday's games tonight but if you are interested in having a go for Tuesday's games or even next Saturday, that would be great. Just let me know what you'd like to do. I'm quite happy to do the MVP votes but it would be fantastic if others would like to have a crack.

Ha, can understand why you didn't get that, I can be a little obtuse sometimes. What I meant was I am not on before each game per week, sometimes I set my lineups a week or 2 in advance, do you need the same coach's each week before each game to make the voting work?

Nah, we simply just need someone to look at the games played (8 games) for our league on a given night. For example, I am about to do Saturday's games. All I will look at is the results and using the criteria I noted at the start of this thread, allocate MVP points. Anytime you or anyone else wants to do the post-match MVP writeups and points would be great. Just jump on the forum and let us know you want to do a certain day and we'll wait for you to do them. Even if they don't get done immediately.

Ok, sounds good. I will see how a few of your turn out so I get the jist but will definitely help out.. :) In other news Crockers has decided to make his move, 103k Centre.. Don't think I can afford to challenge that, well I should rephrase, can definitely afford but don't know that it will be enough to make it viable...

Yeah, saw that pruchase. Actually, I mentioned it in my recent MVP writeups. As for what that means for you...hmmm...depends if you want to roll the dice. As Yodabig would say, if you've got a chance and you get a bit of luck then anything can happen. Obviously you would have to buy another key player, preferably a big, to have a crack.

Yeah it is going to be a tough choice, I just can't see how I can bow out without giving it a whirl.. Will see whether I can find another piece that would fit the bill..

Yes, I saw your moves. I'm assuming you saw CROCKERS second purchase. Ouch. Hi first purchase produced instant results in our PL. I will be officially pulling the plug tonight (selling...tanking) and preparing for a lauch in a couple of seasons.

I did, hence why I needed to move boldly also. I am sick of coming close, I want to challenge for promotion, if you come back down from DII it shouldn't mean a free ride back after an easy season..

PART 1

Well, the finals are almost here and having neglected my MVP voting duties I have decided to do a brief pre-finals write-up.

Who’s in and who’s not? Here is how I predict the ladders for both sides of the league will look after this Saturday’s final league game for Season 18:

Big 8

1. CROCKERS
2. Glenvale Cheaters
3. HawthornFC
4. Mash Brewers

5. Top-prides
6. The Legends678
7. statesmans
8. KyV

Great 8

1. GC Vikings
2. Cheltenham Bombs
3. Moorditj Magick
4. Maltese Falcons

5. CARLTON SUNS
6. XBB
7. Doons Dazzlers
8. Greenbank Raiders

Well, some of you will not be surprised and others may feel I’ve got it wrong. Firstly, the only finals’ positions up for grabs are in the Big 8 with three teams vying for 3rd and 4th. While Top-prides currently hold 3rd spot on account of tonight’s performance, unfortunately for them, they seem destined to finish 5th as they must face the might CROCKERS on Saturday on the CROCKERS home soil. Ouch! In the Great 8, the CARLTON SUNS and the Maltese Falcons are vying for the coveted 4th spot and an appearance in the finals. I believe the Maltese Falcons will steal 4th given the CARLTON SUNS v Cheltenham Bombs game on Saturday which the Cheltenham Bombs will be desperate to secure. If the Cheltenham Bombs win that game they will snag HCA in the opening finals’ game given that the Magick meet the GC Vikings on the Vikings home court. Ouch!

As for the relegation series, I think that I will add an additional post. I will just say that XBB will likely try and win their match with Doons Dazzlers to ensure an easier series.

Okay, as I did last season (with psychic-like results lol) I will attempt to predict the finals series results, including the Div III.3 Champion.

PO

CROCKERS v Mash Brewers
Glenvale Cheaters v HawthornFC
GC Vikings v Maltese Falcons
Cheltenham Bombs v Moorditj Magick

Winners:
CROCKERS
Glenvale Cheaters
GC Vikings
Cheltenham Bombs

No surprises in the opening round although a few things will be interesting. If Glenvale doesn’t go hard (CT) then HawthornFC will take it. With the Magick in full tank mode at this stage, the Bombs will go through with minimal resistance.

SF

CROCKERS v Glenvale Cheaters
GC Vikings v Cheltenham Bombs

Winners:
CROCKERS
GC Vikings

The CROCKERS will have the more difficult of the two games in the Semis.

F

CROCKERS v GC Vikings

Winner:
GC Vikings

If neither team adds anymore players to their line-ups then this will be an awesome three game series. Yes, that’s right, three games not two! I predict, given the final round fixtures that the GC Vikings will have a higher points difference and hence HCA in this series. With that said, I had great difficulty picking the winner in this one and believe only GC Viking’s HCA will help them win the 3rd game. Of course, this is assuming no more roster changes occur and it doesn’t account for injuries or poor tactic choices.
