Y i know im still a couple weeks away from having to pay the by the floor. Currently i have a L4 coach but i wanted to upgrade to train my newly aquired trainees. I have around 800k so i guess its no point in going from L4 to L5? i guess i cant afford a L6... Was thinking that beacuse of the new season attendance will drop so i didnt raise the prices. Guess i was wrong. what should be my first step?

I now have about 20 weeks behind me with this game. Now that the salary floor affects me, there`s still no problem. In one season i have already been able to expand my stadium, buy level 5 coach and get a competitive team with 5 decent trainees. The difference to most (apparently) is the way i plan to make money. I`m only making 20k/week because i have a competitive team and an expensive coach. So there is no way that i could accumulate a large amount of money that way. Instead, i`m getting better and richer by training players! By the beginning of the next season, i have 2 players that have roughly 20k salary and one that will probably get in U21-national team of Finland. There`s also 2 more decent trainees. So, if you start the game by training players, you don`t have to worry how much you`re getting each week. This game would be so boring if you would just collect money for a long period of time. Training is the way to go!

None of your trainees seems worth paying an expensive trainer for. Level 4 will do the job, try to find the ones for 1k starting bid. They can be found with less than 12k salary.

If you want to build a great player, you really need him to have amazing starting skills, other than high potential. And it's still not going to be financially feasible, but sacrificing team success to build a special player is preferred by many people.

Wouldn't adjusting the attendance formula so that it punishes players for having low salary non-competitive teams make more sense than increase the salary floor. If I have a super salary-efficient team that is able to compete in my league, the salary floor punishes those teams too. Adjusting the attendance formula so that tankers can't make money, punishes tankers.

After your arena expansion you'll probably still sell out courtside and lower tier, you can do the math on how much $ that is. For bleachers you need to monitor the overall attendance in the next few games.

Truth to be told you have not maximised the income from your arena. That should be your first priority. Besides you have another 7 weeks at no cap, if I'm not mistaken. You will make quite a bit of money before you need to pay the floor and you will be able to easily afford a lvl 4 trainer and further arena expansions.

Yes and I think most people were in favour of changing the fan survey to do that, but then people disagreed on what would constitute 'tanking'. More importantly changing the fan survey to cut into the tanking teams' earnings is not as easy as changing the values in the salary floor calculation.

That said, D1 in decently sized nations did indeed need a higher floor, irrespective of fan survey changes because the differences were simply too much. When you have 3-4 teams at 300k-350k or so and the rest at 600k or more it's not so much fun and you can understand how much difference it makes to earnings. To add insult to injury one of these teams, with the money from tanking, bought players before the playoffs and won a relegation series, imagine that...

In order to counter the reluctancy to mess(technically) with the fan survey, there were proposals that didn't have anything to do with it..
Once a week, during the economy update there could be a calculation run(like the overextension tax does) that would deal with tanking, by reducing (percent of)that week's TV income, based on the parameters calculated.
Pretty simple math required, provisions for all worries of injustice and levels of penalties can be included.

The answers were like "nice, but can't code it"...then Utopia was born...!!!!!

"Where there is will, there is a way"... and after so many different proposals and so many different denials, all these years, i tend to believe that the answer may just be that they simply don't want it changed.
