Howard is stupid.

He wants more post touches, maybe he should have read the analytics report.

He had the 2nd most post ups last season with the Lakers, which includes better post up players in Gasol and Kobe.

Houston are the fastest offensive team in the league, shot the most 3-pointers and had the least post ups.

Not only that, the points per play P&R with Kobe/Nash was godly, around 1.4 points per play compared to his 0.8 or whatever in post ups.

Sure made the right choice.

Houston have waived Delfino, Brookes and Garcia, Lin is being shopped (goodbye China market) as well as Asik. Then watching Harden play iso 30 possessions a game...

So you have

Beverley
Harden
Parsons
????
Howard

Bench of Smith
Montje

Houston was hands down my favourite team last season. I watched every regular and post season game.

Be interesting to see how different Howard will be compared to Asik, Asik was really turning into a good center.

Lakers did everything they could to accommodate Dwight. Nash had to change his game to accommodate Dwight. Kobe had to do the same but half way thru the season, Kobe's tolerance began to waiver and he said fuck it, I'm the superstar in this team. Even Pau, one of the most talented big men in the NBA had to come off the bench... which is pretty darn stoopid really. You can blame the injuries all you want, but the team chemistry clearly wasn't there.

The whole season was a mess and the Lakers had no one to blame but themselves. Now they are in a tough spot with big salaries, not many future draft picks and even fewer superstar free agents to choose from. Best option is to tank it next season and go for the supa dupa free agent class of Lebron, K Love, Carmelo and co.

The Clippers just added Darren Collison to back up his old team mate CP3 for 2 years on a mid level contract. Lakers have added no one thus far...

Nash
Kobe
Metta
Pau
J Hill

Bench of
S Blake
J Meeks
R Sacre

Rockets have signed Fransisco Garcia after earlier not picking up his third year option. Saved them a few million per year.

Mavs have brought home Devon Harris on 3yrs / $9mil .... they are clearly tanking for next seasons draft pick and FA's

It's hard to build chemistry when your 4 stars played only 20 odd games together.

That being said, they went over 70% after all star break. That's mighty impressive.

JJ Hickson will sign a 3yr, $15M deal with the Nuggets.

Now we just need to trade off Javail Mgee for a decent Center. Or pick up Monta Ellis...

Nuggets are going to struggle to make the playoffs... they just lost Corey Brewer to the Timberwolves. That's a bigger loss then Iggy to the Warriors.

Ty Lawson / Andre Miller /
Randy Foye / Evan Fournier
Gallinari / Wilson Chandler
Faried / Darell Arthur
Mozgov / McGee

Official Celts/Nets trade :

Nets get : Garnett, Pierce, Terry, DJ White
C's get : Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Marshown Brooks, Kris Joseph, Keith Bogans, the Nets first round picks in 2014, 2016, 2018 and the right to swap 1st rounders in 2017

Nets are all in and looking at paying $80mil in luxury taxes next season. Celts picked up some $1000 scrubs for tanking and draft picks, that when you add to their own high picks, gives them the perfect tools for rebuilding. If they luck out in the lottery next season they can bundle their own high pick and a lower round first to move up if they have to.

If they can land Wiggins then it'll be all worth it. But somehow I reckon they are going to lose out again like they did when they tanked for Duncan.

As for the Nets, 100mil dollar team and 80 mil in luxury tax is unprecedented. The other GM's are calling for an investigation into the AK47 signing. Cos the Spurs were trying to do a sign and trade with the Timberwolves for 8mil per season for 3 seasons for Kirilenko. Then somehow that fell thru and now Nets got AK47 for only the $3.1 mini-midlevel exception.

That kind of salary cut does not sound like AK47 who went back to Moscow to make some money while other NBA players were on strike. Unless of course AK47 is getting under the table deals from his comrade.

Heck, even Kobe Bryant does not want to take a pay cut to help the Lakers rebuild in 2014.

The Nets only became interested in AK47 Thursday when they found out one of their draft picks from a season or 2 ago will not be coming to the NBA this season as planned because they couldn't work out a deal with his euro club.

Prokopov(sp?) is stupidly rich, he won't even blink at spending that much if it means a title, it is all play money to him. As for under the table deals ... well I'm sure they could work out something "back home" that the NBA would never be able track. Most clubs would be up to some sort of dodginess so this would be the same just on a bigger scale ;)

hahah yeah true.. Kirilenko would rather give the money to Prokapoc then to the commish of the NBA. Prokhorov wouldve pauid 8mil and then some (luxury tax) anyways. Pretty sure AK47 is getting more then just the 3.1mil per year.
