The "useless" Shot Blocking helps the player lower his fouls.

That makes sense. I have 3 trainees, they have pitiful, average, and respectable SB. The guy with pitiful is foul-prone.

Not true

My PF has atrocious SB, yet he fouls only 1.5 fouls a game. However my other PF with mediocre SB fouls more than 3.5 a game.

Both have the same ID rating also.

It should be pretty common knowledge that SB is a modifier on defense. Even though it doesn't show up in the stat line in epic quantities, if my way of thinking is correct with regards to programming and random chances, it adds to defense as a modifier when a shot is taken by the opponent. Whether the shot misses or is blocked is another thing.

It's not directly linked to less fouls, because the aggressiveness still plays a huge role in that, but by being a better defender they'd understandably commit less fouls against more skilled opponents.

OD rating? since zone defense will drag them out of position.

Yes, true.
It's like general knowledge. The other PF has higher shot blocking, but he is way more agressive than the one with atrocious, but the higher the shot blocking, the easier will the player defend.
