Dennis Rodman was a great rebounder, no question. But he was no Chamberlain or Russell. I don't think you should make such silly statements without knowing the facts.

Single Season RPG leaders ABA/NBA
1. Wilt Chamberlain* 27.20 1960-61 PHW
2. Wilt Chamberlain* 26.96 1959-60 PHW
3. Wilt Chamberlain* 25.65 1961-62 PHW
4. Bill Russell* 24.74 1963-64 BOS
5. Wilt Chamberlain* 24.59 1965-66 PHI
6. Wilt Chamberlain* 24.32 1962-63 SFW
7. Wilt Chamberlain* 24.16 1966-67 PHI
8. Bill Russell* 24.08 1964-65 BOS
9. Bill Russell* 24.03 1959-60 BOS
10. Bill Russell* 23.95 1960-61 BOS
11. Wilt Chamberlain* 23.80 1967-68 PHI
12. Bill Russell* 23.63 1962-63 BOS
13. Bill Russell* 23.55 1961-62 BOS
14. Bill Russell* 23.03 1958-59 BOS
15. Wilt Chamberlain* 22.92 1964-65 TOT
16. Bill Russell* 22.81 1965-66 BOS
17. Bill Russell* 22.67 1957-58 BOS
18. Wilt Chamberlain* 22.34 1963-64 SFW
19. Nate Thurmond* 21.26 1966-67 SFW

Well you forget the Era that those players playing. On 60-61 Wilt used to average 50 points per game too. Really i cant see how that those could be translate on the modern era of NBA, but i can make the opposite argument about Rodman. Just to remind you that is much easier to go against 6'6-6'7 C's that where the majority of the C's on 50-60 when you are 7'1. Rodman was facing some of the best big men ever. Akeem, Robinson, Shaq, Kemp, Barkley, Malone, Ewing and so many others. The golden era of the big men.

So my statement is far from silly, actually is pretty legit. Maybe absolute, and you can argue about that but for sure not silly.

Russell was 6'9". Besides I would argue that rebounding is more about positioning, athleticism, and hustling than it is about height.
Because Wilt was a once-in-a-lifetime athlete should take nothing away from how great of a rebounder he was. The whole era debate is legitimate, but you have to put it in perspective from both sides. Russell and Chamberlain didn't have the equipment, training, nutrition, or 30-40 years of coaching and sports technology development to help them either.

I found 25 guys 6'8" or taller in 1960. What's more, there were only 8 teams.
