I would add that the Earth is flat.

Pretending that it´s not is only to let those lazy physicians and mathematicians don´t have to make all those complex calculations...

The idea is having in as part of the game.
I can use my cellular and there are other ways.

As this can easily be done by an out-of-the-game clock, there is just no reason not to make it a part of the game solution.

You answered this one yourself. It's a lot more easier to handle this with out-of-the-game clock, just because of the page refresh and idle logout problems. Why implement something that works worse than it's simpler alternative, that is accessable to everyone.

Does the clock of the auction changes? Yes it is!!!
You do not need to refresh to get this. Hence, it can be easily implemented to buzz when the auction comes to 1 minute (for example) before auction ends.

But the auction end is constantly changing when it gets interesting ...

I want a hot cheerleader to dance through my room 2.32 Minutes before the auction ends. Easy to implement aswell, and so user-friendliy ...

That's why it is so needed!!!
If it was only to be aware of the auction start time, then it will be needed but much less.
The Auction-Buzzer time will change when the auction's end-time will change.

Having this auction's buzzer-timer is as needed and as user-friendly as having a timer on your cellular.
It is also as complicated as that.
