I second that :( Makes zero sense how I could possibly lose that one. Lets break it down :
* I had HCA
* Both played at the same effort level
* He had 1 starter foul out
* Another injured (I think early in the 2nd half)
* Rosters are fairly comparable

As Pauline so pointedly puts it .... "Please Explaaaaaaaaaaaaain"

(and I wont mention the ratings because I had a higher rebounding rating even though he won the rebounds comfortably)

Looked pretty good from my point of view ;)

I was possibly a little lucky or it was just a case of pure awesomeness!

This is why I won... (i think)

* In individual ratings I won most positions. (I rate these ratings a lot higher than the team ratings that are only a guide)

* My Team ratings (that I dont rate too highly) are down a little due to my issue at SF

* But our offence didn't rely on the SF so it didn't hurt my offence or defence too much

* Rebounds since they changed the formula come down to individual match ups as to who get the rebound, so: If I had better rebounders at C, and PF but my SF (due to injury) was rubbish I would still gather a lot of the rebounds at PF and C but my team ratings would look a lot worse due to the SF not helping much for the team.

I might be wrong but I dont think it was as big a surprise as it might seem at first glance

I generally think the points per 100 ratings are the best guide, and in those you got thoroughly smashed

That said, that was probably reflected in the game (Baxter shot better), it was just the rebounding and the large amount of FTs that got you over the line. The rebounding looks a bit odd, given you were behind in the rating, but you are right, it might be a matchup thing.

I'd still maintain you were pretty lucky though

You can maintain it all you want but I won :P

I think this game is a combo of individual match ups vs team dynamics. I think I won the individual match ups in key areas like rebounds which helped get the win. My flow was better but I got beaten in total team IO and D.

I think the team ratings are fun but I would be pretty disappointed if that was the only thing determining if you win or not.

Anyway, one good win down, a few more to go. :)

I will be still trying to win with the playing resources that I have available

(whilst hopefully banking some loot and training some small forwards)

I might be expecting too much but Id like to finish the season with 10 mill in the bank and 3 promising small forward trainees.

The ABBL championship and the battlers cup would be the icing on the cake

I must be some chance as Ive just made 4 acquisitions (one will be sold) that total about $2.8 mill

Haha, I wish you the very best of luck in trying to win the ABBL/cup with only 1 bloke with a wage above 6K ;).

Well I will try and get the weekly salary up to the floor, but I thought it best to trade out my 26 year olds whilst they were still worth some coin, rather than let them rot on the bench whilst I rule the ABBL with my latest additions to the roster.

Incidentally one of them (26 year olds for sale) was leading rebounder in the ABBL last season
