The Nets only became interested in AK47 Thursday when they found out one of their draft picks from a season or 2 ago will not be coming to the NBA this season as planned because they couldn't work out a deal with his euro club.

Prokopov(sp?) is stupidly rich, he won't even blink at spending that much if it means a title, it is all play money to him. As for under the table deals ... well I'm sure they could work out something "back home" that the NBA would never be able track. Most clubs would be up to some sort of dodginess so this would be the same just on a bigger scale ;)

hahah yeah true.. Kirilenko would rather give the money to Prokapoc then to the commish of the NBA. Prokhorov wouldve pauid 8mil and then some (luxury tax) anyways. Pretty sure AK47 is getting more then just the 3.1mil per year.

I bet when he finishes this contract, which is likely his last in the NBA, he goes home and plays for a Russian team and "The Prok" gives him a nice salary ;)

Depends on the production of the old guys (if which they have a few now)
Main roster :
Williams
Johnson
Pierce
Garnett
Lopez

Bench
Terry
Kirilenko
Blatche
Evans

Defending an opposing SG could be a problem, I don't see a legit defender who can defend the 2 amongst those.

The 2013-14 New York Knicks:

Carmelo Anthony
Tyson Chandler
JR Smith
Iman Shumpert
Raymond Felton
Tim Hardaway Jr.
CJ Leslie
Amare Stoudemire
Metta World Peace
Andrea Bargnani
Kenyon Martin
Pablo Prigioni

Would like to see Artest aka MWP incorperated into the starting lineup somehow. You just can't ignore his defensive prowess. NY Contenders next season?

He's a bit slow now. Just aggressive still.

I don't think I could ever see a team with carmelo on it ever as a contender (ok, I can in very specific circumstances...)

However - Bargs trade was weird (sadly I support raptors) and made no real sense for NY unless they are gambling on being able to redeem him after all these years of going backwards.

Aron Baynes making some noise in the Summer League.
He dropped something like 19pts and 15 boards.
He played well in their last game as well !

Kenyon Martin is still an UFA, hasn't signed with anyone yet. With MWP taking the remainder of the mid-level exception I'm not sure if they can bring him back now
