I think its impossible to have a roster to do both. Thats were the decision comes in each season of what we think gives us the best chance of winning.

Hypothetically though, the ideal tactic to have both inside and outside would be PTB. With that, I could see if we had the right players all around, maybe some good outside guards, good inside guards, good passing, both types of SFs, a couple two way PFs, and typical centers, then we could potentially pull it off.

I think that American teams who train National Team players need more recognition. What they are doing is a service that should be rewarded with more than just a little flag next to the player's name. What about something like a list of all the managers that contribute to the national team on the forums? It isn't much, but at least it would recognize each team specifically for helping. We are all trying to put the pressure on the NBBA teams, but I think they should at least deserve some praise in return. In fact, all American teams that have national team players should be noticed. Ok let me rephrase, since I myself trained Logsdon so obviously there are a rare few managers who would do it, but we are talking NT here. To sustain the salary of a 200k-250k SG you would have to be an NBBA team. NBBA teams with outside offense generally do not last long in the current environment, especially ones with 250k guards (that only on and off play for the NT so no assured merch boost). Before you say it, yes there are successful outside offense NBBA teams, obviously Silverbacks, but he doesnt do it with mega NT SGs. So we would need to be sure that the GE change is significant or these 200k+ outside offense guards will retire. If we shift our player development of our HOF potential players towards creating high salary SGs who retire at 29 or bounce around from one D5 team to another we will be causing great damage to the NT program IMO.

I am liking the sound of this idea. A mainly outside tactic can crush inside oriented teams if we construct the team properly. It would take a long time, but it may pay off big.

If in 8 seasons I am still in d. V delete my account as I don't deserve it.

Edit: what did your typical finances look like? Did you have any homegrown talent? How American only was your team?

Not too sure how this is relevant, but it only took me two full seasons to leave easily. If you listen to some of the tips and read the forums it will be a piece of cake. You'll probably be in D.IV-III by then.

Agreed. In the scenario that you are in D3 in 8 seasons you still can't sustain a 200k player. D2 teams can, but its very difficult to do for more than a one season push to promote to NBBA.

I lost money when my team was a good outside offense team. Had Logsdon and Dube, both were 220k ish at the time. When they were regular NTers the merchandise boost (about +30k each) made it financially viable, but they weren't regular NTers for long at all. I paid 3.3m for Logsdon and trained him to be a beast SG for the NT, it nearly destroyed my team. Doubt you find anyone willing to do that anymore to make a SG unless the GE changes.

Point I'm making is that as things stand right now, taking our HOF potential guards and turning some of them into outside offense players, has the potential to be a disaster unless the GE changes are significant...which we don't know. Taking our HOF guards and training secondaries is totally fine, because it helps both the NT and the owner of the player with salary.

Edit: grammar

Ok so.

Thinking about financial accounting and managerial accounting when I took them in college.

What was your income from arena at time and compared to league average? Same with merchandise pre nt bonus and post still compared. And what was tv contract?

Since it takes like 8+ years... Best to get the information out sooner rather than later for people to prepare

I have a question for NewEra. Please don't take this the wrong way, i just think it needs to be pointed out. There is a core of people that have been a part of the NT effort for a long time now, Sleet being one of them. By this I mean active in scouting, game planning, and helping get American players trained. While I think you have good ideas and are an all-around good duy, you haven't been a part of this effort. Why should we vote for you instead of someone like Sleet, or even Isaiah, who has been around the NT and knows the personnel, procedures, etc that are involved?
